Question from Jennifer:
Hi, I’d like to know what theme would go well with our color motif -turquoise and pewter. Our wedding is on the month of December. Please help.
Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:
Hi Jennifer and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Choosing a wedding theme is often a difficult choice—only because the possibilities are endless.
Turquoise and pewter is your colour theme, and you really don’t need to add anything more to this theme—but you can if you choose. You can use a consistent decoration (like a snowflake for winter) to make your evening more of a themed event. Take a look at these theme favours to get ideas for your wedding theme.
An obvious theme is to make it a winter wedding theme, with ideas at this link. You can use a flower to create a theme. You can use an idea (like fairytale) to create a theme. You can use a colour to create a theme. If you go to the homepage, and scroll down, you will find FIFTEEN wedding themes listed on the right side, and there are many more to choose from.
Check out this cute pewter "Love’s Journey" Antique Getaway Car Placecard Holders. If you aren’t doing a seating plan for your wedding, you can put any message into the placecard holder slot—a thank you to your guests, or some other message. If you have a smaller reception, you may want to use this as an opportunity for a game, where people have to find a card that "matches" their card. It will get people up and talking, and whoever finds their match first (or last) can win a prize.
Anything can be a theme. There is no need to stress over this. The colours of your wedding can be a theme in itself. The only thing that makes a theme is that it is repeated throughout the decorations. Your colours can do that. Check out some of these theme collections, especially the winter wonder collection.
I would personally stick to something simple—the colours you already have, with a few tasteful additions like the Winter Wonder Collection, or the pewter car shown above. Simple is always more elegant than a jumble of many things.
There are a lot of ideas here, but if you get stuck narrowing down your selection, feel free to email again. Enjoy!
