Question from Quita:
I’m getting married in March,09. My budget is $4,500 for a 100 guest. What type of wedding/reception can we have, how nice will it be? I have picked the sites and bakery. My dinner is a soul food buffet style. My dress was bought for me. Every thing else have to be paid for out that amount.
Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I suggest you do a Google search for a wedding planning checklist. Then, start with the things you must have: money for the wedding license, and the minister of your church, for example. See what things you can have friends or family do that could save you money, like taking photos of your wedding. Have 3 pp picked out for this task, or ask all your guests to share their photos with you after the wedding. You don’t want to have one person’s camera fail, and then you don’t have pictures.
Another example: Flower can be very expensive. Bridesmaid bouquets can be premade with silk flowers which can be done by someone crafty in the family over the next six months. Or, if you live where you will have flowers in March, you can pick them from the garden to make the bridal and/or bridesmaid bouquets.
If you continue on this way, you can have almost everything you desire for the wedding, without paying a lot of money for it. Use the wedding planning checklist for your guide, and choose wisely so your money can go a long way.
