How Do I Plan My Wedding On A Budget? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Quita:

I’m getting married in March,09.  My budget is $4,500 for a 100 guest.   What type of wedding & reception can we have & how nice will it be? I have picked the sites and bakery.  My dinner is a soul food buffet style.  My dress was bought for me.  Every thing else has to be paid for out that amount.

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Quita.  Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  Your question is difficult to anwer because it depends upon what things you want included in your wedding, where you live, and what the prices are in your town or city or country.

I would suggest you make a list of all the things that you need (like a marriage license, tuxedo rentals, bridal party gifts), and then list the things that you would like to have with your wedding.  Then start pricing things out and see what you can afford to do.  Start with the essentials.  Anything left over can go for those things on your "want" list instead of  the "need" list.  A google search on ‘wedding planning’  will give you a number of lists that will help in your wedding planning.  A google search on ‘wedding budgets’ will help you with budgeting your money effectively.

Good luck and feel free to email again if you have any other questions.
