What Colours Go With A Turquoise Sash For My Wedding? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Mirian:

What colour is better to combine with a turquoise green satin sash?

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Mirian.  This article on choosing your wedding colours will help you see the various ways you can combine colours.  Turquoise is really a combination of blue and green.  The complementary colour of blue-green is red-orange.  The harmonious colours of blue-green are blue and green.  If you wanted to go tonal or monochromatic in your colour scheme, you could use various shades of turquoise.  If you wanted a bolder statement, the triadic colours are yellow-green, and blue-violet.  Triadic colours are colours that are an equal distance apart on a colour wheel.  For a bolder triadic statement, you could go with yellow and/or purple.

The main thing is to keep the colour tones similar.  You don’t want a dark red-orange with the lighter turquoise.  They need to be the same intensity of colour to be balanced.  Always remember that your neutral colours of white, black, and brown (and all their shades) will go well with turquoise.  Enjoy choosing your colours and make them a personal statement of your unique style.
