Hi Frances. Most people purchase invitations for their wedding, and you can find a variety of beautiful invitations to match your wedding theme and colours. If you want to make your own invitations, you can do so with your computer, or with you can write them out by hand. People who do handwritten invitations tend to do it using calligraphy—either hiring someone to write them, or learning to do it themselves.
As for the wording, that depends upon a lot of things. The proper wording has been explained in a few answers I’ve posted in the past. This wedding invitation wording post covers the basics. You can find more wordings for wedding invitations here.
