How Do You Word A Baby Shower Invitation? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Julie:

How to properly word a baby shower invitation(non traditional) stating the party is at 4:00 pm and hors doeurves are being served.

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Julie.  A baby shower invitation should state who (couple’s name), what (a baby shower), when (date and time), where (time and place being held).  If you know that it will be a boy or girl, that is something that should go into the invitation so appropriate items can be purchased by the guests.  Also, put in the RSVP information.

Some baby shower invitation cards are fill in the blank, and others are blank for you to write the invitation by hand. Here is an example of wording.

If you need the guests to bring something (like their own baby picture) for a baby shower game, you can also put that into the invitation. There is no need to put in anything about food being served, because that is normal at a baby shower.  You might also consider baby shower favours for the guests.
