I must have went to seven or eight boutiques looking for bridesmaid dresses. It was a pretty big ordeal trying to find a dress that complements many different body types. My bridesmaids are anywhere from stick thin to curvy and busty. They also range from 5’3” to 6’. Now that made things crazy difficult but in the end I found a dress that worked for everyone. The dress I picked out was a form fitting long strapless dress. The shape definitely makes everyone look thinner.
I had a huge ordeal with going to the wrong boutiques. I learned how important it was to call them ahead of time and ask them numerous questions. You have to make sure they will clip the dresses for you so that the dresses are formfitting. This is the only way you’ll be able to see what the dress looks like. Many places did not do this so I would be swimming in this size 10 dressbecause I’m a size 4. Without clips trying to decide if I liked it was impossible.
Making sure the location of the place is good is also very important. One of the places I went to ended up being in the basement of a women’s house. She didn’t have clips or even a full-length mirror. I was there in her bathroom looking in the mirror, jumping up trying to see what the whole dress looked like. Besides calling boutiques, a very helpful thing is to research dresses online. You find hundreds of dresses and can find which boutique carries your favorite ones. Well that was my experience in a nutshell, so take my advice and prepare ahead of time!
