Hi Lois, and congratulations on the upcoming wedding in your family. To know whether a park (or civic property) is available, you need to contact your civic authority—your city. Your parks department is another place to check. Different parts of the country have the rental of this space under different departments. A phone call to your city with your question will give you the answer you are looking for.
Have you considered a back up location in case of rain? or are you planning to rent a tent? There are some things to consider when planning an outdoor wedding.
