Do The Wedding Colours Need To Be Used In The Bridal Shower? – Ask The Expert Answer
Question from Destiny:
I’m throwing a bridal shower for my friend for her wedding and her colors for the wedding are hunter green and burgundy. I was wondering if you have to use the wedding colors for the bridal shower? Thanks a bunch.
Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:
Hi Destiny. How nice that you are planning a bridal shower. Usually the decor for the bridal shower follows the colours the bride has chosen for her wedding. That does NOT mean that no other colours can be introduced.
If your friend is a "shoe fanatic" for example, there are great shoe bridal shower favours that you might want to use as a theme. Depending upon what colours they come in, you might choose to have that as your main colours. I would insert the green/burgundy somewhere into the theme, but you don’t need to make it the whole colour theme or even the predominant colour.
It is nice to insert the wedding colours somewhere, but it need not be the whole theme. It is important to have the bridal shower reflect the personality of the bride—so using other colours is perfectly acceptable. In this case, green goes with many colours. The combination of burgundy/green could highlight the bride’s chair at the shower, with touches of the green in the table decorations mixed with a new colour that you have in mind.
Play around with the colours. Pay homage to the bride’s colour choices, but express yourself also. Have you considered some bridal shower games to keep the guests occupied while the bride opens the gifts? There are many that can also be incorporated into a bridal shower theme, so check them out.
Good luck, and if you have other questions, feel free to ask.
