How Do We Attach The Aisle Runner At The Wedding Ceremony Site? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Julie:

My daughter is getting married next weekend and we would like to know the best way to attach the aisle runner at the front.  The aisle is all ready carpeted.
Thanks

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Julie.  Aisle runners can be attached with masking tape, double sided tape, packing tape, or pins.  Most facilities have rules about what can be put on the carpet, so ask the ceremony site what they recommend.  They know what works best in their facility.  If you are using tape, it is put on the underside of the aisle runner.  Pins work well, and leave no residue, although you may have to use a number of them.

The ceremony aisle runner should lay flat on it’s own, especially if you decorate the night before and give it time to ‘relax’.  Depending upon the type of runner you purchased, you may not need to tape it at all.  Rolling the runner in the opposite direction should work to relax any curling in the runner.

Good luck, and if you have further questions, feel free to ask.
