Hi Please could you advise me. We are getting married next year in Italy. Our wedding reception is in a restaurant on the beach front overlooking the sea. The centre piece have bowls with candles, sand and shells in them. Do I choose my invites going by colour? Italy? Or beach?

Hi Emma, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. It is difficult to answer your question without knowing how formal your wedding is. If you are having a formal wedding, then your choices of wedding invitations is rather limited. Formal invitations are always white or off white, have raised black printing, lined envelopes and so forth.
If you are going more contemporary in style, but still going with an elegant or sophisticated look, then your invitations should reflect that. Classy, understated wedding invitation designs in your wedding colours would work really well.
If your wedding is more casual, then you can go with beach theme wedding invitations that have sea-shells or similar graphics. As for an Italy theme, it would depend where you live. If you live in Italy, then having an Italy theme doesn’t make sense, so I am assuming you live somewhere else in the world and are having a destination wedding.
If you are having a destination wedding, then your options change again. Pretty well anything goes with destination weddings, allowing you to blend formal and casual in unique ways. There are many great destination wedding invitations to check out if you follow this link and type in destination.
There are many invitations to choose from, but mostly you want the invitation to reflect the overall theme of your wedding—it’s formality, it’s style, and so forth. You will be sure to find something to reflect that amongst these many choices.
