As for the items or decorations which make a country western themed wedding charming are the everyday items we associate with the cowboy way of life or life on a farm. Decorations can include bales of hay, wagon wheels, old boots, paint cans, buntings and swags, washtubs, odd containers and even mason jars. Garland of greenery and wild flowers can greatly enhance the effect. They’re all basically anything you would associate with country and western.
For the wedding attire, you can be modern or traditional. If you want you could wear jeans and denim shirts. But it would more charming to actually try looking for a white frilly sundress, old western wedding dress or maybe a long flared ankle length skirt worn with a white shirt. It all depends on how western you want to look.
The groom could opt for cowboy tuxedos or jeans worn with boots, white shirt and a gambler’s vest. Either way, the photos will look great. As a country and western way of life can be separated from the bountiful harvest, a hearty fare should be the order of the day. Taking the outdoor concept further a barbeque would be a great way to liven up the reception. Barbequed ribs, steaks, potato salad, chili, cornbread and even fried chicken will be great. A potluck can also add to the celebrative mood. The wedding cake itself can be placed on a table decorated with wild flowers, or decorated with wildflower motifs.
To bring the mood higher serve the beer and soda from the bottle. You can even put them on ice in a washtub. This can be a focal point for everyone to socialise. To bring it up a notch, put them on ice in a wheelbarrow. Someone or a waiter could wheel it around to serve the guess. The lemonade or iced tea can be served in mason jars. But hey, just be creative. There are bound to be novel ideas to make a country themed wedding extra unique and memorable. To top it off, dessert could include homemade ice cream and home baked pies.
When you think of a country wedding, you should never forget the music and the dances. A great option would be to hire a live band. The live music will provide the ambience essential to a country themed celebration, as well as live music for dance. It is after all a celebration of a new life. What better way than to turn to music and dance? The music should try to stay within the theme, but it shouldn’t be confined to one type of rhythm. Mix up the tempo, so there will be the slow dance opportunities as well as the feet stomping dance numbers.
To help guests go back with a nice memento of the wedding, favors can be almost anything related to the country life. A common idea would be the horseshoe for good luck.
