I have a good friend from college who grew up in Houston, Texas and she demonstrated true southern hospitality which was derived from her “southern pride”. At first I didn’t quite understand that sort of culture like holding the doors open for everyone, always smiling and saying hello to everyone on the street, saying “yes m’am – no m’am”, etc… but it wasn’t until I visited her a few summers ago that I realized that southern hospitality is a way of life.

My Texan friend just started dating this really nice guy she met at her job.
