Weddings in Beachburg, Ontario, Canada
When you’ve thought that those little towns you’ve seen in movies where people still actually waved to other people on their way to work are fictional, I invite you down to a little town in the Whitewater Region.
I, for one, also thought that kind of lifestyle only exists in my childhood collection of Enid Blytons Stories. However, I was jolted back to reality when I found Beachburg, a little town in Ontario, Canada,
Beachburg is relatively small compared to other towns in Ontario, and relatively smaller if you compared it to Toronto. It only accommodates approximately 900 residents. However, it is this small sized population that makes everyone so close to each other. You would never have to worry if you need someone you can trust to babysit your children. Beachburg community is not only warmth, but it is extremely neighborly too.
In this town, the pace of life is slow and almost stress free. Since there are less than a thousand living within, shopping malls and fashion boutiques will not be found here. Nevertheless, the facilities provided are adequate for this simply life style. There is always the obligatory grocery store. There is also a convenience store, hardware stores, craft and hobby stores and even a pizza joint if you decide to dine like the Italians. Since this is Canada, it is a big must that there is at least a hockey rink to train upcoming talented players. Canada needs to live up to its status as the Hockey Capital of the World. Don’t worry! Not everyone is born a hockey player. There is also a baseball diamond, soccer field and a martial arts centre to keep you active and sweating.
Similar to many small towns, Beachburg is sometimes a bit understaffed in terms of their medical services. It is served by the Whitewater-Bromley Community Health Centre with one doctor and two nurse practitioners. Nonetheless, the city of Pembroke is only 20 minutes away. Pembroke also offers more variety of shopping experiences apart from their more advanced medical services.
On the other hand, Beachburg is still a great town to live in. What makes it truly amazing and one of a kind is the people there. Even though there are only 900 living there, their schools are handicap accessible. Although there are only 2 students who need this kind of help, their school and even their pharmacy goes out of the way to make it more easier for two of their own. The school began the project even before they received any allocations. When asked about why he was willing to take the cash out of the pocket first, he mentioned: “They are going to need changes in the school, so it has to be done whether we get the money or not, right?” To find this kind of attitude in a busy city is like finding a one sized smaller needle in a haystack. In Beachburg, you will never be a stranger for long.
