Essential Wedding Ceremony Decorations

The transformation of a dull wedding ceremony venue into an enchanting place is possible with the help of wedding ceremony decorations. These decorations can bring life, class and character to the mood of the ceremony proper.

Flowers. Your flower selection is a major element in embellishing the wedding ceremony venue. This is something that won’t go unnoticed. Discuss with your florist the theme and mood of the ceremony. Is it going be indoor or outdoor? If it is an outdoor wedding, is it beach or garden inspired? It is Catholic or Jewish wedding? Choose flowers which can retain their freshness for long hours and the most suitable flower arrangement. Order plenty of them to garnish the altar, the podium, the window ledges, the communion rails and many others.

Wedding Ceremony Decorations

Columns. To complement the charm of the flowers, the columns should also be presentable as they are. Choose from  decorative plastic columns,  Roman columns, Grecian columns, marble columns and iron columns, which are all appropriate for wedding ceremonies.

Torches. Having a beach wedding or simply an evening, outdoor wedding? Having torches is the best way to light the place. You may choose between citronella and tiki torches, which also work as insect repellants aside from providing light and setting the mood for romance. Tiki torches may be wood, iron or bamboo.

Aisle Runner. Do you want to let go of the traditional use of carpet as you walk your way to the altar? If yes, you can have an aisle runner as an elegant substitute. Don’t get a plastic runner because high-heels might tear it off. Go for nylon or rayon for durability. You can even have the runner customized to fit the theme of your wedding.

Ribbons. Ribbons play a significant part in a wedding ceremony. They are used to make pew bows and chair sashes. Your choices include sheer, organza, chiffon, satin ribbons or mesh wired ribbons. Use your imagination. See if combinations of two or more will look better.

Arbor. An arbor is a symbolic decoration. The idea of walking under it will make you think of the new phase in your life that you will have to face soon. It is ideal for outdoor and indoor weddings. Common arbors are made of copper or western cedar. Decorate it with flowers and ribbons and drape it with sheer fabric to make a canopy.

Unity Candles. Lighting the unity candles is optional for some Christian denominations. Just in case you belong to a religious group that see the significance of it, having a simple yet attractive candles can make the candle-lighting more sentimental. An option is to get a set of white candles with sculpted roses with pearls fashioned in swirls.

Directional Signs. If your chosen venue is a hotel or convention center which can hold two or more weddings at the same time, you wouldn’t want your guests to gatecrash the wedding- somebody else’s wedding.  Make your directional sign as stylish as it could be to excite your guests in gracing your wedding. Choose the appropriate font and make it big enough to be seen even from afar.

Wedding Luminaries. To further romantically light the entry way in an evening indoor wedding and help the torches in an outdoor wedding, you can have wedding luminaries of various designs. The most common design is the heart and dove. Some other designs like wedding bells, cupid, wedding rings and snowflakes are also available.
