Wedding Decoration Ideas That Work Wonders

Choosing a location for a wedding ceremony is a very complex thing, especially if you are trying to make it a unique and very personal event. Having a big budget in itself does not necessarily translate into a beautiful ceremony, especially if no thoughts are given to concept and themes for the wedding. In fact, some of the most remembered marriages are those conducted in the simple venues such as churches, mosque and temples.

A site would often be chosen with a theme already in mind. Having it at a church would probably mean that the couple is looking at a traditional ceremony, while choosing a hotel often means that they are gunning for a luxurious, no holds barred weddings. There is no right or wrong in either choice as what is important is that the location chosen should be appropriate for the event at hand.

Preparing for the big day would be a long and arduous journey, which would be easily executed should you plan things carefully and right down the smallest details. Once the location for the wedding ceremony is chosen together with the theme and favor, it is then time to tackle the nitty gritty details of the event. The list is very comprehensive and would be daunting for a one-person to take on. Rope in some help, by all means, as you will really need them.

Take care of the decision making right from the outset. This mean that before anything is done to, say come up with the wedding decoration ideas, make sure that what the bride and groom would be wearing, how many invitation cards are to be printed and sent out, what food and drink to serve, where the reception would be held and most importantly, where the exchanging of wedding vows would take place.

One thing that also needs some consideration is the centerpiece – the attraction of the wedding ceremony. This could be in the form of a rostrum, or perhaps, a pergola (which goes nicely with a garden wedding theme and favor), a flower arrangement, or more commonly, a wedding cake. The centerpiece should be one of the other focus of any wedding ceremonies outside of the bride and the bridegroom. It is also often a showcase, so as to speak, on the creativity of the planning team who brought the event to life.

Decorations to the centerpiece is therefore is a very important factor to be considered and tackled as part of your wedding decoration ideas. Do not leave the task of coming out with visualization to amateurs or those with little sense of style. The decorating must take into consideration the whole theme chosen for the wedding ceremony so that it does not appear out of sync with what is happening on that day. Imagine, a beautifully made, multi layered wedding cake without a proper centre table complete with a tent for protection from the natural environment. Such a cake would not fit in a beach wedding theme or even a garden wedding theme without having a proper place for it to shine.

This is true even when it comes to highlighting the bride and the groom. An outdoor wedding ceremony, for example, would need some sort of decoration to map out the path of the man and the woman tying the knot as to allow them to be as graceful as they need for such an important event. Wedding ceremonies involving the armed forces often highlight this highly ingenious and yet very poignant method of creating such a passageway with the officers crossing their sabre-mounted rifles in a makeshift path. Of course, this is in fact a variation of the simple red-carpet theme, but one could certainly exercise a good degree of  creativity in coming out with some good ideas.

Another items which needs looking at is the rostrum where the wedding vows would take place especially if the couple is holding their wedding ceremony outside in open space. While it should not outshine the centerpiece, it cannot also be a dreary item which would spoil the whole ambience of the event. Flowers works best in such situations. Have a good mix of large size flowers plants with the smaller ones to show some contrast. There is no need to overdo the decoration as simplicity should a key feature. The simplest methods are often the best ones, after all.

Do not forget the wedding reception, even though a caterer may have been assigned to cover the setting up of the tables and chairs. Just make sure a trusted someone is around to just check to see if all the cutleries are arranged nicely, the table clothes are clean and crisps, the glasses shiny and without wanton finger prints. Once the exchanging of vows takes place, there are simply no time left for any last minute tidying up as the guests would have to be catered for.

Visualize also the way the tables are to be set. They would need some beautiful covers, preferably light in color with some form of frills to draw the eyes of all the guests. A nice arrangement would be to have it in a semi-circle facing the centerpiece, perhaps the bride and the bridegroom’s rostrum.  This way the guests could enjoy their dishes while admiring the fine work put in by its designer.

There is absolutely no waste in making some effort at creating a masterpiece of a centerpiece. Be it a wedding cake (which one hardly ever get to eat on the big day itself), a flower arrangement or a nicely decorated pergola, these items would continue to be a quaint reminder of the beautiful day when two hearts joined as one in matrimony.
