Amherstview, Ontario for a wonderful outdoor wedding theme

Named for the Amherst Island, Amherstview is a town that is interlinked with another town, namely Kingston. Amherstview is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario and is also known as a community in Loyalist Township, Ontario. Being one of the Loyalist Township member, Amherstview is famed for the richness of its history and this is proven with the existence of several outstanding historical sites at that town such as the Fairfield House and The Loyalist Parkway.

Fairfield House
Now a preserved historical heritage, Fairfield House was once a modest farmhouse owned by American Loyalists named William and Abigail Fairfield. What makes people flock this house is the fact that it has managed to retain many of its original interior features. On guided tours of the House, visitors could move from the limestone cellar to the raftered attic; presented just the way they were centuries ago.

The Loyalist Parkway
If Amherstberg has a museum dedicated to the history of Underground Railway Road, Amherstview has established The Loyalist Parkway in order to let visitors experience and follow the course of the Loyalist Settlement. Here, visitors also get to visit over 40 listed archaeological sites and 125 prominent heritage buildings neighboring the Parkway. For those with a keen interest in Heritage Tourism, Genealogy, Canadian History, Early Canadian Architecture and many other related fields, the parkway is the best place to be to satisfy one’s knowledge thirst as it is loaded with useful and beneficial information.

Parrott’s Bay Conservation Area
Besides being rich in history, Amherstview is also well known for the beauty of its nature. Realizing this fact, the town council has established Parrott’s Bay Conservation Area as a step to preserve the natural beauty of the town’s flora and fauna. At the conservation area, one could easily set her/his senses free and just indulge in the beauty of the surrounding area by taking a stroll around it. For the more adventurous ones, they could try hiking, snowshoeing and even cross-country skiing. For those with families, this place is the perfect picnic spot to instigate a healthy dose of family bonding. Avid fishers could also fish at the conservation area, as it boasts of huge wetlands, which promise wonderful surprises for those who love fishing.

Waterfront Trail
Another exciting back-to-nature activity is the Waterfront Trail. By trailing along the waterfront, visitors could not only witness the beauty of the flora and fauna, but could also see the peaceful countryside and the urban and suburban living areas that are symbiotically interlinked with nature. The sight of this amazing blend of nature and human’s civilization would truly give one a magical and breath-taking experience.

So why wait? If you are a history and nature buff with a longing to go back into time, Amherstview is simply divine as your next holiday destination.
