What Are Great Gifts For The Bridal Party? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Lynette:

I am in my 40′s and this is second wedding for me and first for the groom.  Our wedding party ages range from 35 – 50 years old, and they have everything.  Any suggestions on unique gift ideas and what is the appropriate amount to spend?

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Lynette, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  The classic gift for the bridal party is jewellery.  The jewellery is usually worn on the wedding day to give a consistent look to the bridal party.  The ladies usually get necklaces, and the fellows often get tie pins or tie clips, or watches

The bridal party spends a lot of money on their attire, and paying for the costs involved in the bridal shower and stag party.  So the gifts for the bridal party should roughly equal what they spend.  Of course, a gift is given based on what the giver can give, so this could vary.

These links should give you some great ideas.

What Type of Wedding Jewellery Should I Wear? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Preema:

My gown is of ivory colour.  I would like to know what type of jewellery shouid I wear.  My face is small and ovel shape.  What type of hair style will suit me.  I have long hair too.  Thank you.

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Preema, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage.  The most classic jewellery for a wedding is pearls, followed by silver.  The more modern use of crystal allows for variety in your wedding jewellery, and crystals comes in many different colours, so you can carry a theme colour into your jewellery for a modern look.

There are many choices that you have, depending upon the bodice of your dress.  If your wedding gown bodice is detailed, I would suggest a simple pearl strand.  If your gown is of a more simple style, you can go with a more detailed and full necklace.  You want the length of the necklace to sit comfortably between your neck and the top of the wedding gown.   Earrings and a tiara or bridal headpiece can accent your look, and give the illusion of more height.  If you have a full neck height wedding dress, then I would suggest earrings and a tiara.

You say you have long hair.  This lets you play with many different styles.  I suggest you try different "up-do’s" to see what you like the best.  Take pictures of yourself with these hairstyles to see what they look like.  Although it is great to have a spectacular hair style, when you look back at your pictures, you want to see what you looked like in those years, so a style that is close to your regular look is most often recommended.  I suggest you ask a friend who is good with hair to come over one day and help you experiment with different looks.  Or, if you have a favourite hairdresser, you can visit him/her and see what they will recommend.

It is always good to try a hairstyle out before the wedding to see if it is what you truly want.  If you are having a headpiece and veil, you might find that the hairstyle is really not that important because it is mostly covered up.  I suggest you try different hairstyles with your jewellery, headpiece and veil, because it will be a whole look.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email again.

Wedding Day Jewelry For That Extra Sparkle

Jewelry tastes are as different from one couple to another.  Some prefer a more traditional cut to their jewelry, others prefer something a little more elaborate while a select few would go to great lengths (and pay good money) to create something uniquely personal.  No matter what the taste and type, jewelry plays a role very much like the wedding gown – it is used to enhance and reflect the personality of the bride and groom, and is very much a personal choice.

When referring to jewelry, we begin with the ones no wedding day would be complete without – the wedding bands.  Unlike the days of old where gold was practically the only option as the mineral for these symbols of unending love, today, you have your choice of yellow gold, white gold, sterling silver or platinum, amongst the more popular choices.  And then there would be your choice of plain, decorated or stoned.

Bridal Tiaras Plain wedding bands are still very much the choice for couples today.  With only the optional engraving on the inside of the ring, you can have your choice of either yellow or white gold, sterling silver or platinum for these.  Wedding rings that are decorated do not have any precious stones set on them but have been shaped, molded or designed with the same mineral with which the band is made up of.  These can be found in the standard white and yellow gold, sterling silver or platinum.

Some contemporary couples choose wedding rings that are stone-set.  On the base of gold, silver or platinum, precious stones and semi-precious stones are set.  Typically, favourite choices of stones are diamonds (both clear and coloured), emeralds, rubies and sapphires.  Being the more expensive type of precious stones, these also symbolize exclusivity and the once-in-a-lifetime binge on wedding day jewelry.  Types of stones, size of carats and custom-design (or not) would largely depend on the budget allotted.  And truth be told, rings with diamonds are not the sole right of women anymore.  In fact, many jewelers today boast of a selection of diamond-studded bands for the groom.

Wedding Day Jewelry2.jpg Other options for precious and semi-precious stones are pearls, jade, amethyst, cubic zirconium and garnet, just to name a few.  Crystals have also been known to be used as a stone for wedding rings.  Most couples also like their wedding rings or bands to be a set – matching in design and colour – although this is not a necessity.  This request is mainly an exercise in sentiment, as in partners in life as well as in visual presentation.  Usually, these sets are most cost-friendly than purchasing separate and different rings.

Other types of jewelry for the wedding day include the tiara.  Except for the wealthy, this piece of ornament is more often rented than purchased, as the tiara, needless to say, is an extremely expensive piece of jewelry.  Again, the type of precious and semi-precious stones used will depend on the financial resources available to buy or rent this piece.  In reality, most onlookers have been successfully duped into believing that a tiara worn at a wedding is made of real diamonds or sapphires when only crystals or glass are the main ingredient.  This is strictly an optional piece as many brides today prefer to be more contemporary in appearance and the tiara tends to present a more conservative, traditional look.

Wedding Day Jewelry.jpg The necklace on the bride as a piece of wedding jewelry would normally be a sentimental piece – probably a gift from parents, family or future in-laws.  In many Western cultures, the jewelry is worn during the ceremony to please and respect the giver.  In some Eastern cultures, these are a gift from family members to be worn as part of the bridal outfit.  In cultures where this is a part of the dowry, the necklace will not be the only piece of jewelry – bangles, numerous rings, earrings, anklets and even toe and nose rings, all in gold, are included.

The groom is not exempted from wearing jewelry on his wedding day as well.  Apart from his wedding band, other jewelry include gold wrist or pocket watches (the latter of which serve mainly as ornamental pieces), tie clasps, cufflinks, and in some societies, ear and toe rings.  Most of these would be wedding gifts from family members and may form part of his dowry.

The wedding day is a day when the bride and groom get to literally glitter and shine.  And if indeed you do get to wear or own such large amounts of jewelry, this day would be the day to enjoy it.

The ABC of choosing wedding jewelry

Wedding jewelry is an essential part of a bride’s look on that most important day when she must take the stage as the queen for a day. As the focus of attention, it is important to properly choose and mix and match the ornaments for that special day. The rule of thumb for a bride’s jewelry, along with her other bridal accessories should reflect the stage of formality of the wedding celebration. An informal ceremony calls for simple adornments, while large formal weddings calls for more elaborate adornments.

There are various aspects to consider when selecting wedding accessories. The style of the bridal gown plays a major role in the selection of jewels. Strapless or low necklines are best for showcasing of necklaces and earrings. On the other hand when using a gown with high neckline it may be better not to use a necklace and simply concentrate on finding the perfect earrings. Generally speaking with a more ornate wedding gown one should wear simpler ornaments but with a simpler gown one is able to wear much more complex pieces.

There are various types of necklace with different lengths; these include the, choker, the collar, and princess, matinee, and opera lengths. Following certain guidelines in selection of the necklace length may help to best flatter your gowns neckline. With a jewel neckline gown a choker is an appropriate piece, a collar necklace for a more daring neckline, a princess style for strapless gowns, a matinee piece looks great with a bateau, jewel, or a lower neckline. The opera style necklace though is rarely used in weddings as it is too long.

Keep your earrings simple if your neck-piece is large or grand. Bracelets can be worn with sleeveless, short-sleeve, and three-quarter sleeve gowns. Watches are not normally appropriate wedding ornaments but can be worn if it is an antique or family heirloom or has special significance.

Bridal Accessories

When selecting earring styles remember these tips: Button earrings are best to accentuate a round face. Dangle earrings widens narrow faces. Squarish pieces add interest to a long face. A Tiara may clash or draw attention away from your earrings and so you may not want to wear them. Wear larger earrings to balance your look if you are not wearing a necklace.

If you want to feel like a princess spend your special day crowned by a glittering tiara. Should you choose to don a tiara consider keeping the other jewelry simple or let your headdress be the focus point and leave off any extra jewelry. This is to avoid looking too excessive to the point of being gaudy.

As for the bridesmaids, their ensembles can easily be enhanced with a little extra accessories, (e.g.:  earrings, bracelet). All bridesmaids’ ensemble should be coordinated, that is keeping to the same colour and style regardless of whether they match or contrast with the colour of the dress. It is recommended that the bridal party ornaments be kept simple yet elegant.

Pearls have been worn for centuries as a symbol of purity and perfection. In ancient Roman culture, the pearl was the ultimate symbol of wealth and social standing, while the ancient Greeks associated pearls with love, marriage, and unrivaled beauty and believed them to possess powers to harmonize a wedded reunion. Modern brides often wear a wide array or precious and semi precious stones including rhinestones, diamonds, cubic zirconium, gemstones (ruby, opal, jade etc) and or a combination in their wedding ornaments. This all depends on budget and personal preferences.

The important thing to remember is to make sure your jewelry does not overshadow the wedding gown and that the colour works with the gown. Example, for white bridal gowns, they look best with white pearls and silver. An ivory gown looks better with ivory pearls and gold and a pale pink or beige gown looks best with ivory and gold accents. These are all general rules which do not necessarily need to be adhered to as long as you are happy and confident with your look. As the old adage goes “Whatever works for me is just fine”.

Stringing Along – Pearl Wedding Jewelry

The pearl, which is considered to be the birthstone for June, has been used not only in jewelry, but also stitched onto clothing, crushed and used in cosmetics, medicines, or in paint formulations. Historically, it was the exclusive possessions of royalty and aristocracy. Let’s learn a little more about pearls.

It is the oldest known gem known to mankind and is valued in many cultures throughout history. As far back as 2300 BC, Chinese records indicate that pearls were prized possessions of royalty. Ancient Hindu texts state that the god Krishna discovered the first pearl. In ancient Egypt, mother-of-pearl was used for decorative purposes as far back as 4000 BC. The ancient Greeks used them especially at weddings, believing that pearls are said to bring love, while in the Koran, the pearl is described as one of the greatest treasures provided in Paradise.

Pearl Jewelry.jpg Kokichi Mikimoto was instrumental in perfecting the technique for artificially stimulating the development of round pearls in Akoya oysters, thus giving rise to the term cultured pearls.

Faux or real

Bear in mind that cultured pearls are not the same as imitation pearls. These pearls are manufactured, so they have no real value as a gemstone. They can be made from glass, ceramic, shell or even plastic. The bead is then coated with varnish to produce a pearl-like luster and iridescence.

To test if a pearl is real or faux, scrape it gently across your teeth. Imitation pearls feel smooth to the tooth while the genuine ones feel slightly gritty or abrasive due to the crystalline structure of the nacre.

Now that you know how to tell the real from the faux, you can start shopping for your pearl bridal jewelry. There are various types of pearls – Akoya, freshwater, Black Tahitian and South Sea. Akoya pearls exhibit the traditional white, silver or cream colors, while Tahitians and South Sea pearls give darker tones. Freshwater can be either white or dark.

The value of the pearls in wedding jewelry is determined by a combination of the luster (which is the most important), color, size, lack of surface flaw and symmetry. The larger the pearl, the more valuable it is although large, perfectly round pearls are rare and highly valued while teardrop-shaped pearls are often used in pendants.

White Pearls.jpg Matinee or opera

Did you know that pearls have their own set of names that characterize the pearls based on where they hang when worn around the neck? A collar will sit directly against the throat often made up of multiple strands of pearls. Pearl chokers nestle just at the base of the neck. A princess comes down to or just below the collarbone while a matinee falls just above the breasts. An opera will be long enough to reach the breastbone of the wearer, and longer still, a pearl rope is any length that falls down farther than an opera.

However, don’t muddle up your pretty little head with all these terms. You have enough on your hands to worry about. To accessorize a wedding gown, strapless or otherwise, you can safely wear either a collar, choker or a princess, and find its matching earrings. However, use a collar only if you are endowed with a swan-like neck. You can also add a lovely matching pearl bracelet to complete the ensemble.

You can choose a necklace whose pearl size is the same throughout or they can be graduated, with a larger pearl in the center and smaller pearls on each side of the clasp.

It has now become the practice among parents of the bride or groom to give a gift of pearls to the bride. Many bridesmaids are also given pearl necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Now here’s some interesting information about the size of pearls in a necklace. Tradition dictates that certain pearl sizes are deemed suitable for women of certain age groups and the size of the pearls is an indicator of the wearer’s wealth and social status.

Pearl Tiara Pearls ranging between 5.5 and 6.5 mm are generally for teenage girls and younger women up to the mid-20s. Those which are between 6.5 and 8.0 mm are worn by women in their mid-20s to mid-30s. Pearls 8.0-9.0 mm in size are traditionally worn by women in their mid-30s to mid-40s, exhibiting an aura of status, class, and success. Pearls measuring 9.0-10.0 mm are generally worn by wealthy matured women.

Lastly, a short note on how to take care of your pearl jewelry. Do apply perfume, hair spray, and other cosmetics before putting on your pearls. After each use, wipe them with a soft damp cloth to remove any traces of cosmetic products or body oils. Wash the pearls occasionally with a mild soap and a soft cloth. Keep your pearls separately to prevent scratches. If possible, store them wrapped in soft cloth or pouch, or jewelry box.

Bridal jewelry – Accessorizing for your big day

Large Pear Cubic Zirconia Drop Jewelry

Large Pear Cubic Zirconia Drop Jewelry

This may be a burning question that is playing in your mind as you decide on your bridal jewelry. Should you go for diamonds, pearls, white diamonds, sterling silver, Swarovski crystals, pearls, titanium, tungsten, gold, platinum, palladium, jade … the list can go on. If you adore diamonds but can’t really afford them, then opt for cubic zirconia. It looks like the real thing, durable and it won’t burn a hole in your pocket. It also comes in various grades. The higher quality cubic zirconias are almost similar with mined diamonds.

Before you decide on your bridal jewelry, there are certain things that you have to consider.

Whatever you choose must complement the neckline of the gown, your face shape and your

Pear Shaped Crystal with White Pearl Drop Jewelry 3 Piece Set

body size. You want jewelry that will flatter you, not one that will just stand out. If you are wearing a high-collared, long-sleeved lacy Edwardian type of wedding gown, then you don’t need many wedding accessories, except for a pair of fabulous earrings and of course, the ring.

If you are endowed with an oval face, consider yourself lucky. You can wear anything and still be safe. Your round-faced cousin however, needs a longer necklace to add length to her look. She should also avoid chokers, short necklaces, large stones or pearls. Deep necklines go well with round faces. An oblong face or heart shape face should go for choker style necklace while drop crystals look great on a diamond face.  For those with square faces, try a simple strand of pearls that is a little bit longer while shorter necklaces look good on a rectangle face.

Rings

This reminds me of a joke which goes, “What are the three rings that women get in their lifetime? Engagement ring, wedding ring, and suffering.”

As the wedding ring is the most important ring in a woman’s life, and for some men too, most opt for timeless wedding bands. However, for the engagement rings, the options are limitless. Traditionally, you are expected to wear your engagement ring on the right hand and the wedding ring on the third finger of your left hand. Some prefer inconspicuous rings, some like solitaires, while others like their stones big, the bigger, the better (think Elizabeth Taylor).

Silver Coloured Jewel Hair Comb with Pearls

Silver Coloured Jewel Hair Comb with Pearls

There are many different ring-setting styles. One is the eternity setting comprising small diamonds or other precious stones wrapping around the circumference of the ring. In the bezel setting, the metal rim covers about 10% of the stone, giving it excellent protection. In a prong setting, an elongated metal bracket holds a stone to the ring band. About six prongs are normally used. For women who are active, the channel setting is recommended as it cuts down on pulls and catches. Other settings include Tiffany, Baguette and Illusion. Apart from diamonds, some of the stones used in engagement rings are sapphires, rubies and emeralds.

Earrings

Opt for long dangling earrings only if you are tall and have a swan-like neck. For those who are not so lucky, a sure bet is a small pierced piece, something that will not draw attention to the neck or rather the lack of it.  Button earrings are great on well-endowed ladies with round faces.

Garden Necklace

Garden Necklace

Necklaces

The right necklace will enhance the look of the gown as well as the bride. Some people go for the minimalist look, unless you are an Indian bride who is usually decked from head to toe in jewelry. A string of pearls goes well with low cut dresses. In fact if you choose to wear a strapless dress, you can wear practically any necklace style – choker, Y-drop or a simple pendant. If you wish to add color to the occasion, you can choose between genuine gems and simulated stones. Depending on the wedding attire, you can opt for funky, gothic or vintage jewelry.

Unconventional day

With more people opting for unconventional weddings – under water, in the sky, at the beach – apart from the wedding ring, bridal jewelry is rendered the least important. Sometimes the sparkle in the bride’s eyes and the radiance of her smile are more than adequate to see her through the day/night without having to accessorize.

The choice of bridal jewelry also depends on the depth of his and your pocket too. Nowadays, couples need not even venture into stores to buy jewelry. Just a click of the mouse will bring that lovely piece of jewelry right to your doorstep.  However, there are a few things that you need to check.

- Check returns. Some outlets allow a 90-day money-back guarantee, giving ample time for you to change your mind.
- Is the site secure?
- Check the site’s privacy policy.
- Read testimonials for unbiased, third-party reviews.

If you find the matching game a tiresome one … which neckline goes with what face and which necklace goes with which face shape … throw caution to the wind and wear whatever makes you happy. After all, it’s your day and you have the final say.

Handcrafted Bridal Jewelry for a Perfect Wedding

Whether it is the wedding of your dreams, or the dress of your dreams there is one thing that brides all over the world have in common when it comes to their wedding day – and that is the need for perfection. So of course, every single last nitty-gritty detail has to be nothing less than perfect, and nothing is more important than the wedding attire. Every bride dreams of looking beautiful on her special day and believe it or not, there are certain things that a bride needs to have to ensure she looks her very best, – the perfect bridal jewelry aside from the perfect wedding dress.

Now finding the perfect bridal jewelry may not be as easy as it sounds. Although ornaments can come in all shapes, sizes, varieties, colors, patterns, designs (you name it they have got it), sometimes these store-bought-products do nothing to compliment the bride or her outfit. Just like a bride intuitively knows the moment she has found her perfect dress, in much the same way she will know if she has indeed found the bridal jewelry she needs.

That is why the best solution to the possible dilemma of not being able to find the perfect sets is none other than handcrafted bridal jewelry. Why, you ask? Because these give the bride the opportunity to design and custom make her very own personalized ornaments. She will get the chance to add her own personal touch to the handcrafted pieces, customizing it to be as unique as she is. She can craft the jewelry to look any way she wants it to look, and perhaps show off some of that creative flair she might not even know she has and surprise the guests on the big day!

Handcrafted bridal jewelry can range from necklaces to bracelets, earrings, accessories, anklets and headbands. Because they are handcrafted, it allows the bride to add a personal touch to her creation, so the jewelry that she will adorn on her special day would be more meaningful compared to if she had simply purchased it off the shelf. It would hold a more sentimental value because the bride will always recall that she created those timeless handcrafted pieces herself. The handcrafted pieces would reflect the bride’s individual style, and she can design them specially to compliment both her and the dress. Plus it would look amazing in all the wedding photographs! Because nothing says “wow” quite like unique handcrafted bridal jewelry that you can’t find anywhere else.

Just like store bought bridal jewelry, handcrafted bridal jewelry can come in all shapes, sizes, styles, designs and colors, depending on the brides preference. The best part is that the jewelry can be made of any sort of material, because it is born entirely out of the brides creativity and she can design absolutely anything she wants. The pieces can be made out of materials like crystals or pearls, beads and gemstones, flowers, and even charms and birthstones. And it does not stop there! The possibilities are endless once the creativity starts flowing. And if ever a bride is stumped for ideas, no problem! Because that is where the magic of the internet and Google comes in.

Simply type in the keywords “handcrafted bridal jewelry” and you will be bombarded with page after page of websites and links that provide you with tips, suggestions, advice and examples of how to go about designing your own jewelry pieces. You can even find websites that provide examples of what ready-made handcrafted pieces look like, tips to ensure your handmade jewelry does not clash with your wedding attire, even step-by-step guides on how to get started on designing your own pieces. Aren’t we glad we live in the information age where everything is practically a mouse-click away?

So if you are a bride preparing for your big day and you can’t seem to find the perfect jewelry, this might be a possible solution to your predicament. Not only will your handcrafted pieces compliment you, but they will give you something to treasure for years to come. Designing something yourself would hold a great sentimental value for you and when you look back on your wedding day years down the road, you would get a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment knowing you designed your own jewelry on that day. And who knows? Maybe you could even one day pass it on to your daughters on their wedding day.

Bridal Jewelry Sets to Dazzle

Just like the wedding dress, the bridal jewelry has to be just as perfect and as complimenting to the bride so that she looks her absolute best on that special day. Choosing the perfect bridal jewelry can be a stressful ordeal indeed, especially with so many wonderful, beautiful selections available out there nowadays, not just in the shops but on the Internet as well. The choices seem endless and because so many of these pieces are so beautiful, different and exquisite, often a bride finds it difficult to choose which pieces she likes best.

Sometimes choosing pieces of ornaments can be tough. Not only do the pieces have to compliment the bride, it also has to match the dress that she is wearing on that day and she has to make sure the attire and jewelry do not clash. This is very important because some brides have a tendency to go overboard with their accessories, which is a big no no. Think of your wedding photos! You wouldn’t want to look back on them a few years down the road and say “What was I thinking?” would you? No, bridal jewelry should be kept simple, yet classic. And as if choosing the pieces is not enough, there is the added hassle of making sure the sets match. Thankfully though, nowadays many specialized bridal stores have given brides everywhere a solution – by offering a selection of bridal jewelry sets to relieve the burden.

Depending on the supplier, bridal jewelry sets can be made up of a number of different combinations. One supplier could have a bridal set consisting of earrings and necklaces or a necklace and tiara set. Another could provide a set containing engagement rings and wedding bands, although the most standard bridal jewelry set offered is usually made up of earrings and necklace selections. Some could provide two-piece ornament sets; others could provide three-piece sets made up of necklaces, earrings, rings and many more.

A boxed set is a good alternative means to purchasing the individual items. Usually when you purchase a set, you can get a good price for it and it could cost less compared to purchasing the individual items. Plus, purchasing an entire set saves you the hassle of having to hunt for the individual matching pieces.

Bridal jewelry sets can be made up of an assortment of designs and consist of many varieties. They can be made up of crystal, engraved jewelry, pearls, sterling silver, gemstone and even rhinestone. And there are even selections within selections! For example with pearl bridal jewelry sets, the mini selections within this category could be made up of pearls that are wither regular, colored or freshwater  to name just a few! Wow! How is a girl to choose?

Bridal ornament sets are not just for the bride alone. After all, the bridesmaids and the maid of honor are quite possibly the second most important people at the wedding (the bride is THE most important one of course). They are the bride’s closest, most trusted friends and confidants, and they too play a major role on the wedding day. And just like the bride, all eyes would also inevitably be on the bridesmaids and maid of honor as they will be the ones who stand up there with the bride on her special day. So it is only natural that there are jewelry sets for the bride’s leading ladies as well.

Traditionally, to help a girl prepare for her big day, her parents or close relatives and friends would accompany her to provide invaluable (though sometimes conflicting!) feedback in her tough quest for these accessories that are guaranteed to dazzle. She was also often limited to only shops in the vicinity. However, living the age of the internet has made the hassle of shopping much easier, especially when it comes to shopping for a wedding. Pages and pages of virtually everything a bride needs to make her wedding day memorable are available, making shopping for the best bridal jewelry sets so much more convenient. Where in the old days a bride had to spend precious time physically going to a number of jewelry shops, now she can merely browse online for unlimited possibilities from a wide variety of suppliers. So fret not all you future brides, because getting the jewelry you need to sparkle on your special day is really not as difficult as it might seem at first. Thank goodness for the Internet to make things so much more convenient! So browse online and make time to go to as many shops as you can, check out your options and you’ll have you perfect pieces in no time.

Wedding Reception Themes – Incorporating Pearls and Crystals

Crystals Wedding.jpgEver dream of a fairy tale like wedding? Maybe it’s just one of those little things you never really believe can come true. Is it possible to do this for your big day? Anything is possible with regard to Wedding Reception Themes, as long as you really want it and money is not a problem. If this describes your personality, then it’s on. All you need is to combine pearls and crystals. Your wedding will make you feel like a million dollars, and be a truly memorable event not just for you, but also your guests.

Pearls and crystals

They may seem like an odd combination, but they are not. These two elements offer endless possibilities in how you can use them to create a magnificent wedding no one will forget so easily. So where can you start? The first thing to remember is that all eyes should be focused on the bride and her wedding dress. It would not do to have the bride’s day be overwhelmed by the decorations. In short, start with your wedding dress.

Beautiful Wedding Themes

Will you decide on a simple one and combine it with a jewellery set rich in details? If you do, try considering pearls. For many centuries the pearl has been a symbol of unblemished perfection. Various cultures throughout the ages have been giving pearls to brides, and this tradition still continues today. Their simple beauty radiates a purity and elegance that is breathtaking.

A choker, combined with earrings and bracelets would be extremely lovely. If you prefer crystals, similar ideas apply. On the other hand, if your dress has rich accents, your bridal jewelry set should be simple. Otherwise, each will cancel out the other’s brilliance and beauty. Most importantly, the two should highlight the bride’s best features. To complement the bride, it is also a great idea to deck the bride’s maids with similar jewelry. You can also adorn the flower girls with pearl tiaras. As for the groom and his attendants, just use the feature you have chosen for the boutonnieres. Once this part is done, you can move on to the decorations for your wedding.

Depending on the colour scheme of your dress and jewelry set, you can now decide on the decorations. Try to coordinate the colours so they do not contradict each other. There are many ways in which you can incorporate the pearls and crystals into your wedding. One very simple way is to have ring pillows bearing pearls and crystals sewn. There are some examples already being offered on the internet.

A short browse on the internet will also provide you with the idea of chandeliers. You could either get a proper crystal chandelier or just add strings of crystals onto a plain chandelier. This simple act can make a big difference. Another idea you will find interesting is the crystal wedding tree. One website suggests you make your own crystal wedding tree using crystal balls or acrylic spheres hung from silver craft wire. These glass crystals will add shimmer and sparkle as they reflect candle lights. You probably can imagine the effect it will create. Why not try it out? If you find it daunting, then just ask the experts.

Crystals can also be used to decorate your wedding cake. The effect would be stunning. The same can also be done for centerpieces and floral arrangements. Amazing ambience and feel can be created with decorations accented with crystals. If you are adventurous, take up another idea – creating curtains using crystal beads. Or use them as tiebacks on your curtains. Another novel idea you may find includes draping crystals down stairways and mantles.

No matter what you choose, the creative manipulation of pearls and crystals can easily create a unique wedding theme for you and your guests. There are the lights or candles, the flowers, the decoration of the food, the cake, the decoration of the drinks, etc… With all of these things to consider, you barely have anytime to figure out what you will wear with your dress.

Hopefully when you read this, you have a pretty good idea of how to decorate your wedding so that you can finally take time for yourself. I’m sure you know the saying… “Something old, something new, something borrowed something blue.” Now, you can decide on what kind of jewelry you want to wear.

It’s always nice when your mother or grandmother gives you what she wore on her wedding day. My friend’s sister-in-law wore a necklace that her grandmother wore for her wedding. It was a beautiful pearl choker. Wearing an old piece of jewelry for you wedding not only honors the one who wore it first, but it also gives sophistication to your overall look; not to mention it crosses out the “something old” and “something borrowed” line from that verse.

Or, you might want to wear an aquamarine or turquoise necklace or earrings to knock out the “something blue” stanza. Blue goes with pretty much any color, so even if your flowers are red, a blue necklace still works great.

Or, you fiancé might buy you something nice to wear for your wedding. One idea of a beautiful piece of jewelry is the Cubic Zirconia & "X" Design in Silver 2 Piece Jewelry Set. It’s great because it’s cheap and elegant. Cheap jewelry isn’t bad at all; no one will notice the difference anyway. I always wear cubic zirconium earrings and necklaces all the time. Plus, after dropping the big bucks on other wedding supplies, going for a cheap yet delicate piece of jewelry is okay.

"Woe the bride who has to walk down the aisle with a birds nest perched on their remarkable head. It comes as no surprise that the bridal hairstyle and appendage carry a saddle and a half with regards to significance. Modesty aside, the bride is the crème de la crème of the occasion and her main goal should be to look like a stack of a million dollars. Wedding Jewelry For The Classy Girl

The most important aspect of your appearance on your wedding day is your dress but second to that is definitely your jewelry.  Jewelry is what brings the whole outfit together and truly makes you look divine. Imagine yourself in your wedding dress. Your best friend gently places a necklace around your neck. You glance down and smile at the sight of the glistening diamonds lying gracefully on your chest. Okay, well we all would love to wear a diamond necklace on our wedding day but some of us just simply can’t afford it. Personally, it doesn’t fit in my budget to buy one so I’m going for a more affordable classy one.

One necklace that really is elegant and quite affordable is the Silver Vine with Aurora Borealis Crystals Jewelry
. The silver necklace has a stylish design of a vine accented with Aurora Borealis Crystals. It’s really pretty how it combines delicate flowers with swirls to create a sort of majestic look. It also comes with a matching bracelet and earrings. It’s definitely important that your accessories match perfectly with each other because it can look like a complete mess if they don’t. Well I hope you find a necklace that makes you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

Having wedding jewelry to match my wedding gown is something that I think about for my look. Since I like to keep things simple and elegant, the Flower & White Pearl Jewelry set is definitely going to be on my list of options to go with my wedding gown.

I like how the size of the pearls are visible from some distance, they’re perfect! The single pearl on the wedding jewelry is the main focus. On top of the glowing pearl  rests a spakling Cubic Zirconia Flower.

The necklace has a silver ball chain and the earrings are in a stud style. I think this amazing pair will match with any dress that I pick out!
