Beach Wedding Accessories for the Exotic Couple

Black or White Just Married Sandals

Black or White Just Married Sandals

If you would take a survey on the most popular wedding themes, beach wedding would probably top the list. This is because many couples love the vast expanse of beautiful ocean that can serve as the backdrop, the romantic ambiance of the beach scene, and the fact that beach weddings are beautiful and inexpensive at the same time.

Since there are now many couples who get married on beach wedding settings, some exotic couples want to take it a step higher in order to have a unique kind of matrimonial ceremony at the beach. One way to achieve this is to wear one-of-a-kind beach wedding accessories that would complete their look for their big day. Here are some fantastic ideas on wedding accessories that any couple would surely love.

Lei or Flower Garland

A tropical flower garland is one of the first things that will come into your mind upon the mention of the words, beach wedding accessories. Whether you are getting married in a beach in Hawaii or in any other part of the world, a lei of beautiful tropical flowers around the necks of the bride and groom can surely be a memorable embellishment for the event.

Seashell Jewelry

It is very common to find seashells in any beach, which is why this element is always present in many beach weddings. Incorporate seashells into your wedding attire by donning accessories made from terrific beach finds. You and your spouse-to-be can wear seashell necklace, seashell bracelet, or a seashell anklet. Since there are many colors and styles to choose from, it is a good bet that you would end up with a unique looking accessory that would certainly wow your guests.

Beaded Accessories

Aside from seashells, beads are also a staple when it comes to beach or summer accessories. Beaded necklaces, beaded bracelets, and beaded earrings can add a touch of creativity and exotic appeal to your and your partner’s beach wedding attire.

Flower Headdress

For the bride, instead of wearing the traditional veil, you can choose to have a flower headdress made of tropical flowers such as sunflower or hibiscus. Just remember that if you are going to wear the headdress, you should skip the flower garland (or the other way around, depending on your preference) because wearing both would be overdoing it.

Barefoot Bridal Sandals

Barefoot bridal sandals are becoming a hot fashion statement for brides who want to walk down the aisle with bare feet. Barefoot bridal sandals can be made of beads, rhinestones, or leather straps that accents the top of the feet without a covering for the sole.

Shell tiara or headband

In lieu of the flower headdress, a bride can also wear a seashell tiara or headband as a hair accessory. This is suitable for simple hairstyles like a classic bun, ponytail, or hair let hanging down on the shoulders.

Beach weddings have that unique romantic feel and creative look that many exotic couples love. Complete the special occasion by wearing one-of-a-kind beach wedding accessories that you can use even after the wedding day.

Hairstyle Questions – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Niloo:

Hi, Do you know a good hair stylist who can come to my location? I am marrying in Toronto.

Can I ask one more question? If my dress has a lot of sequinces. I am going to have my hair half way up with an elbow veil. Should I have headband or pins or nothing?

Thanks so much

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Niloo.  Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Without knowing the length of your hair, how you have it cut, etc., it is difficult for me to give you specific advice.  Saying that, I do have an answer for you.

Toronto has many hairstylists.  I suggest you use someone you are comfortable with.  It is very common for a bride to "test" her wedding hairstyle a few months before the wedding.  At this time, your hairstylist can advise you on headband, pins, etc.

If you do not have a regular hairstylist, check your yellow pages for wedding stylists, or check your local wedding show organization for salons that specialize in wedding hairstyling.

Good luck and feel free to email me again if you choose.

Garden Theme Wedding: An Evening Affair Under The Stars

garden2.jpgMany brides dream of having a garden theme wedding, within the lush private grounds of their parents backyards or perhaps onsite at famous botanical gardens. It is a wonderful way to use the splendors of nature to create a special mood for the ceremony. Beautiful garden bursting with colorful and exotic blooms, wedding guests dressed in casual elegance and the sun shining brightly on the bride and groom. It all sounds so glorious but what many couples don’t realize is that an evening affair with a garden theme wedding is equally as spectacular. Instead of the sun, you have the moon and millions of twinkling stars lighting up the night air.

If you are going to be using a garden arbor as your ceremonial alter, make sure you cover it with fresh, fragrant flower blooms and add light garlands so that it lights up the night sky! It is important that everyone at the wedding can see the bride and groom during the ceremony and this can be a little tricky sometimes with a nighttime ceremony. Create a walkway of wedding luminaries by placing them on either side of the aisle from start to finish. You can also use the fairy garland light sets to add sparkle to hedges, shrubs and the back of the house. It is also a lovely way to create a practical path to areas such as washrooms, parking lots and the bar.

garden5.jpgBe sure to add plenty of real or silk flower petals down your aisle runner to carry on the garden wedding theme, and perhaps tie off your chair bows or aisle tulle with fresh sprigs of lavender from the garden. One of the lovely aspects about a garden wedding is that you can release lovebirds or doves at the ceremony. Keep in mind that although you can release butterflies at a daytime garden wedding, butterflies can only be released in full sunlight, as they will not fly at night. Instead, consider giving each guest a glow stick or sparkler to cheer on the happy couple following the ceremony – that would be a fun twist! If you are in a rural setting, fireworks are also a spectacular way to make the transition from ceremony to reception and your wedding guests will ooh and ahh!

For the wedding ceremony, subtle touches, decorations and accessories can remind guests of the garden wedding theme. A floral themed flower girl basket and ring bearer pillow; a garden tiara for the bride; hand wrapped floral arrangements for the bridal party fresh from the garden and glass flower holders filled with confetti are all great ways to continue the garden wedding theme.

For the reception, table settings can include small floral arrangements in glass vases on each table, flower accent place cards and place card holders shaped like watering cans or little metal garden pails would be fun! For a more sophisticated look, a tulip in silver flowerpot place card holder would be ideal! Add fresh flower sprigs to the cake and gift tables and as a final touch, sprinkle flower petals can be sprinkled on the dance floor. These are the little theme touches that your wedding guests will admire and remember.

garden8.jpgFor many couples, they choose a backyard or garden wedding theme because it is the most economical. Luckily, for very little money you can accessorize and decorate your wedding and reception and carry on the garden theme.

For other couples, they choose a garden wedding theme because it is the most personal way to celebrate their love and getting married in the parents backyard holds special meaning for the bride or groom. There is no better reason to choose a wedding venue.

A wedding in the twilight is the ultimate romantic setting for many couples tying the knot. In the heat of summer, the cooler evening climate can also be a much more comfortable for your wedding party and guests. With an evening garden wedding, there is never a need to go over the top – just accessorize with garden, summer and floral themed wedding decorations that will work well once the sun sets and the moon lights up the sky. Leave the rest up to the beautiful garden setting and Mother Nature…

Bridal Headpieces … What Looks Good On Your Head

Each and every bride looks forward to her wedding day. This is the one special day where she needs to look her very best; the bride should appear elegant, neat and well-groomed from head-to-toe, as she will be the centre of attraction when the time comes for her to walk down the aisle.

Every detail of the whole bridal ensemble should reflect the joy and happiness felt by the beautiful bride such as the magnificent wedding gown and stunning bridal accessories she wears. Even what she puts on her head is a crucial detail that needs to be taken into consideration when planning for the wedding. How do you go about selecting that perfect bridal headpiece you will be wearing on your wedding day?

8351.jpg Bridal headpieces can either be ornate and elaborated, such as a five-foot long cathedral length veil with a pearl and diamond studded wedding tiara, or it can also be simple and minimal as a flower wreath or a hat decorated with a satin bow. Most importantly is that no matter what kind of headpiece you choose, it should complement the style of your bridal gown. Try to get some ideas by flipping through bridal magazines, browsing through the internet or get recommendations from your bridal outfit vendors. It could save you precious time once you know what is available in the current market. Among other factors that should be considered are such as your budget, the formality of your wedding ceremony, and your bridal hairstyle.

A wedding veil is commonly worn especially in Christian and Catholic wedding. It is believed that the tradition of wearing wedding veil had originated from the days when the Groom throw blanket over the Bride when he captured her. Some also says that wearing a veil will protect the bride from evil spirits. It is also said that wedding veil should be made from sheer material so that the groom will be sure that he is marrying the bride of his choice. Whatever the origin is, wedding veil often acts as the finishing touch to your bridal ensemble.

There are also some criteria that should be considered when choosing your veil. First is the style and length. Cathedral, chapel, elbow and shoulder length veil are the styles you can choose from. Next is selecting the right veil in terms of fabric and color. Make sure they are made of lightweight fabric as most veils consist of several pieces of fabric joint together and it should not slip easily. Lace, organza, silk and tulle in shades of white or cream are among the best choice.

8348.jpg The wedding tiara is another must-wear bridal headpiece especially during formal wedding ceremonies. It can be worn with or without the veil. Most modern tiaras nowadays are easier to wear as they are made of lightweight material and some have special clips to prevent them from sliding back. The frame of the wedding tiara can be made of plated metallic wire, sterling silver, or expensive materials such as gold and platinum. The frames are embellished with precious and semi-precious stones, crystals, pearls or rhinestones and they come in various designs, shapes and sizes.

Wedding tiaras must look stunning and elegant yet not too flashy that it can overshadow the other bridal accessories the bride is wearing. It must also suit the hairstyle that you will be wearing and also your facial structure. It must not bee too big and overstated, nor too small that it can hardly be seen. And finally, it should complement the style and formality of your bridal gown and other bridal accessories.

8222.jpg If you are planning to have a semi-to-informal wedding reception such as a garden wedding, it is better to choose some rather informal bridal headpieces. Again, depending on the factors mentioned earlier, a floral wreath, fresh or artificial flower crowns or clusters and baby’s breath, are among the options. Add details such as satin ribbons and bows to complete the whole look. Other than that, there are also brides who choose to wear silk or lace headbands decorated with pearls or beads; crescent bands and backpieces which are very suitable for up-do hairstyles; a rhinestone-studded French comb that sits in the hair; a barrette or straw hat; or a more retro-style Juliet cap decorated with beads, lace or flowers.

Whatever your choice is, make sure you pick the bridal headpiece that you love. Even though something looks nice and pretty in the display shelf, it does not mean it will look nice should you match it up to the wrong gown or hairstyle or it does not match you facial features. You should feel beautiful and gorgeous when putting them on and furthermore, they should fit comfortably and looks good on your head.

Head-turning Bridal Hair Accessories for Every Style

Women have been adorning their hair with an assortment of accessories for as long as we can remember. Women have always found ways of enhancing their aesthetic appeal and when it comes to their crowning glory, nothing says “look at me” more than the right kind of accessory.

Fashion is not just about clothes, it is about the kind of accessories you wear too. The right kind of accessory could be just what you need to give you that “IT” factor and jazz up your look. Accessorize not just your person, but your hair as well. Hair accessories can be a made up of a range of items. There are hair pins, headbands, rubber bands, scarves, ribbons, hats, clips, tiaras, barrettes, bun covers, ponytail holders, you name it they’re got it. As long as you can adorn  your head with it and make it work, it is a hair accessory

And what does every bride need for the most important day of her life to ensure that her hair looks just as perfect as she does? The right bridal hair accessories of course. Brides today are so lucky because there are so many more wonderful and beautiful accessories available to them compared with the old times. They have so many options open to them from browsing through numerous bridal magazines, to scouting each bridal boutique one store at a time, to clicking away at various websites online that offer countless choices of beautiful, intricately designed accessories.

As the bride, you are already dressed glamorously from head to toe and probably the most dressed up you have ever been in your life. And with all eyes focused on you on that day, it is important to accessorize well, especially with hair accessories. And with so many accessories available it sometimes makes choosing which you want to go for a tough decision.

Choosing the right bridal hair accessories will have the bride looking stunning in no time at all, even if her hairstyle may be a simple one. She could choose to go for hair accessories with some crystals, rhinestones or diamante perhaps, just to draw some attention to her hairstyle and make it stand out amongst all the other decorations. Accessories which usually have crystals, rhinestones or diamante in them usually can be found in accessories such as hair pins or hair bands and even tiaras. It all depends on what kind of hairstyle the bride is wearing on that day and which accessories would suit it best.

The bride could even choose to go for bridal hair accessories which have a floral theme or something with a floral design. She could choose a simple hair band that has  two or three flowers scattered on the band as part of the design, or maybe choose a single flower hair grip to be pinned somewhere along the hairstyle.

Usually, when it comes to bridal hair accessories the most common accessory that most brides tend to go for is the tiara – simply because the tiara also allows them to fit the veil on their head with ease. But that is not to say that other hair accessories are not popular too because they are. Especially the hair pins in particular. It all really depends on the bride and whether or not her preference is a tiara or other hair accessories. Even bun covers could be an option if she wanted to go for a bun hair style on her wedding day.

In some cases, the bride could even customize the accessory to better suit her and the look she will be going for on that day. A perfect solution, especially if she is having a tough time finding exactly the right accessory to complement her look. Sometimes the handmade accessories could be even better than the store-bought range. With all the available websites and stores out there nowadays, all a bride has to do is pick the one she likes best and she’s well on her way to getting the perfect hair accessory.

Whether she wants to go for the demure look, or if she wants to surprise everyone by doing something a little more dramatic, what the bride can be sure of is that she will be able to find the perfect bridal hair accessories for her as long as she knows where to look and how to look for them. So if you’re a future bride reading this, start searching now and find the perfect hair accessory for yourself, because you know it’s out there somewhere.

Selecting a Bridal Tiara That Is Right For You!

Wedding Accessories - Bridal Tiaras

The wedding is probably the only time a girl gets to carry out her secret fantasy she’s always had since she was a little girl of always wanting to look like a princess. The beautiful scenic wedding setting, stunning dress, elegant accessories, the gorgeous veil and of course, a beautiful, exquisite tiara to complete the final look. No wedding look could be complete without a tiara.

Bridal tiaras are stylish and elegant and the perfect way to complete your wedding attire. When worn correctly, they can look tasteful and timeless and of course, make you look just like the princess you have always wanted to be on your wedding day. When the right one is selected, it is amazing how the tiara can transform a simple wedding dress into a beautiful one. But before you go and simply pluck any tiara which looks beautiful on the shelf, remember that just like everything else about your wedding look, there are certain rules every bride needs to bear in mind when selecting her wedding tiara.

Now, because you want to look like a beautiful, sophisticated and dignified woman on your wedding day and not like someone who went overboard with the wedding setup, your bridal tiara should help to accomplish this look. You want your guests to look at you on that day and say, “Wow! She looks stunning! Everything looks perfect on her” and not “Oh my goodness! What was she thinking?”

So ensure that you select one which looks natural with your wedding outfit and not over the top. Be mindful of what wedding accessories (and be sure that your accessories compliment your dress) you are going to wear on that day and select a tiara that will compliment them. It is also important that bridal tiaras compliments the shape of your face and suits the hairstyle you will have on that day. This is an important tip to be mindful of, because the tiara should flaunt the very best of yourself and not overwhelm you completely. When it compliments your face shape and hairstyle, the tiara can enhance your best features. You want people to be focused on you, and not be drawn to the top of your head by something that looks like it doesn’t belong there.

French Petals Tiara

French Petals Tiara

The bridal tiara you are going to wear should be simple, and yet look stylish and tasteful. You don’t necessarily have to follow all the “it” trends that are currently going on at the moment because your wedding pictures are going to last a lifetime. You wouldn’t want to look back in a few years and look out of date, would you? Absolutely not, so simple elegance is the best approach.

You should aim to be able to carry off your bridal tiara with elegance. Again do not be tempted to go for a similar tiara to the one you may have seen your favorite celebrity, or someone you admire, wear. Just like how every individual is unique, there is no such thing as a one tiara fits all concept. Just because your favorite celeb looks beautiful wearing a certain type of tiara, it does not mean that you could necessarily pull off the same look. What looks good on one person might not on another. So choose a tiara that suits you best, not something that looks good on someone else.

Bridal tiaras are usually made of material such as rhinestones, crystals and pearls. And like the dress and other wedding accessories, they too come in all sorts of shapes, designs and styles. Some tiaras are short or medium while others are tall. Some come in the shape of headbands or hairpins, while others are comb shaped. Some tiaras can be antique, while some can be designed to look like crowns.

It may be confusing at first trying to follow so many different rules, which is why the tiara should be one of the last few items to be selected. Once you have confirmed what dress, accessories and hairstyle you are going to go with on your wedding day, it is really not that difficult to know what to look for. Remember that everything about your ensemble should flow well together, creating a timeless, classy, elegant and beautiful effect. So have it down  exactly what you want on your wedding day, how you want to look, what you are going to wear, what jewelry and hairstyle you want and you are well on your way to selecting a beautiful tiara for the finishing touch. Just be sure you don’t change your mind about anything halfway through!

Pearls and crystals

They may seem like an odd combination, but they are not. These two elements offer endless possibilities in how you can use them to create a magnificent wedding no one will forget so easily. So where can you start? The first thing to remember is that all eyes should be focused on the bride and her wedding dress. It would not do to have the bride’s day be overwhelmed by the decorations. In short, start with your wedding dress.

Will you decide on a simple one and combine it with a jewellery set rich in details? If you do, try considering pearls. For many centuries the pearl has been a symbol of unblemished perfection. Various cultures throughout the ages have been giving pearls to brides, and this tradition still continues today. Their simple beauty radiates a purity and elegance that is breathtaking.

A choker, combined with earrings and bracelets would be extremely lovely. If you prefer crystals, similar ideas apply. On the other hand, if your dress has rich accents, your bridal jewelry set should be simple. Otherwise, each will cancel out the other’s brilliance and beauty. Most importantly, the two should highlight the bride’s best features. To complement the bride, it is also a great idea to deck the bride’s maids with similar jewelry. You can also adorn the flower girls with pearl tiaras. As for the groom and his attendants, just use the feature you have chosen for the boutonnieres. Once this part is done, you can move on to the decorations for your wedding.

Depending on the colour scheme of your dress and jewelry set, you can now decide on the decorations. Try to coordinate the colours so they do not contradict each other. There are many ways in which you can incorporate the pearls and crystals into your wedding. One very simple way is to have ring pillows bearing pearls and crystals sewn. There are some examples already being offered on the internet.

A short browse on the internet will also provide you with the idea of chandeliers. You could either get a proper crystal chandelier or just add strings of crystals onto a plain chandelier. This simple act can make a big difference. Another idea you will find interesting is the crystal wedding tree. One website suggests you make your own crystal wedding tree using crystal balls or acrylic spheres hung from silver craft wire. These glass crystals will add shimmer and sparkle as they reflect candle lights. You probably can imagine the effect it will create. Why not try it out? If you find it daunting, then just ask the experts.

Crystals can also be used to decorate your wedding cake. The effect would be stunning. The same can also be done for centerpieces and floral arrangements. Amazing ambience and feel can be created with decorations accented with crystals. If you are adventurous, take up another idea – creating curtains using crystal beads. Or use them as tiebacks on your curtains. Another novel idea you may find includes draping crystals down stairways and mantles.

Among the choices you can find on the internet are crystal swans, crystal rose, crystal perfume bottle, crystal candy, crystal heart key chain, crystal teddy bear and even crystal angels.

No matter what you choose, the creative manipulation of pearls and crystals can easily create a unique wedding theme for you and your guests. Just browse bridal magazines or just browse the internet to find an abundance of ideas ready for use. Make your wedding a memory to be cherished for all time.
