Barn weddings, vintage Victorian and ethnic celebrations are just few of the many other options that you have.

Specialty stations to take you by surprise

Specialty stations are going to be a part of the reception decorations from now on. Let’s start with those decadent candy buffet stations that come complete with pretty scoops and spoons. Guests especially those with a sweet tooth will feel like they’re in heaven when hanging out near this particular station. And because it’s so colorful, it adds to the beauty of the reception venue.

Dessert trolley stations that go around with gorgeous cupcakes, pastries and treats are just as big hit. A photo booth also adds funk to your wedding reception décor. This is usually included for the enjoyment of the guests who will have a grand time doing wacky poses and dressing up in funny costumes in front of the camera.

Potted plants also make terrific centerpieces that can double as wedding favors after the ceremony is over.

Accent decorative pieces for a country wedding include grapevine wreathes, lanterns, gourds, pumpkins, ears of dried corn, wheat stalks, burlap bags, honey jars, raffia ties, cinnamon sticks, dried peas, and coffee beans.

A Touch of Country

  • Tie the chairs with russet ribbons and insert some wheat sheaves or roses.
  • Instead of having the usual table and chair reception, you can do it in a picnic-style, much like how they eat in the countryside.
  • Fill galvanized washtubs with ice and drinks.
  • Serve homemade dishes like pot roast, corn bread, fruit pies, and pumpkin cake.

You love the casual and laidback nature of country weddings. You adore the fact that they are beautiful and exquisite at the same time. You and your partner would surely have a time of your life with this kind of wedding theme to celebrate your special day. Enjoy!

Decoration Tips for your Orange Wedding Theme

Orange Wedding Theme

Orange Wedding Theme

The moment you have been waiting for has finally arrived. Your love of your life has asked your hand in marriage and even before you can say yes, your mind takes you to a whirlwind of images where you see yourself wearing a gorgeous white gown, walking down the aisle.

Just like most brides, you want this moment to be as perfect as possible. Aside from that, you want your wedding to have a unique appeal that would make it stand out among the other weddings that people have seen before.

You consider all sorts of wedding motif colors—blue, pink, green, and lavender. You find it hard to choose among these colors, not because you do not like any of them, but because you do not want your wedding to look like a replicate of the weddings you have attended in the past. You very well know that these colors have been used over and over and over before.

If you are looking for a color that is not a staple for weddings but can surely add flair and beauty to the event, consider using the dynamic shade of orange. Many people are not aware that orange makes a fantastic wedding color. In fact, it is so versatile you can use it in almost any occasion, even during spring, which is mainly dominated by pastel shades.

If you want to know more about how you can decorate your wedding with this color, here are some decoration pointers to consider.

Adorn Tables with Orange Centerpieces

  • Put lemons, oranges, and limes inside tall clear vases and top off this bright arrangement with a combination of orange shade flowers such as roses, gerbera, tulips, chrysanthemums, and daisies.
  • Use orange colored mason jars to hold yellow and white tulips and daisies. Wrap the mason jar with brown raffia. This is an economical and yet eye-catching idea for a centerpiece.
  • Collect a bunch of orange, yellow and red poppy flowers and place in a tall slender vase. This centerpiece idea can surely add visual interest to the tables in the reception.
  • Place orange-colored candles in a wide clear vase filled with water. Light up the candles for a gorgeous floating candle centerpiece.

Create a Stunning Backdrop

  • For the couple’s place in the reception venue, you can decorate an arch with orange roses, orange tulle and orange raffia. Include a couple of cymbidium orchids to complete the look.
  • You can also adorn the couple’s gazebo with a combination of orange, yellow, and white balloons, as well as orange tulips or daisies in between.

Embellish the Bouquet

  • Gather orange and yellow dahlias and green gladiolus for a stunning bouquet. Adorn the bouquet with an orange plaid ribbon.
  • Add accents such as orange rhinestones, orange Swarovski crystals, and petite orange pearls to your beautiful bouquet of golden yellow and peach roses. Little accents can make the bouquet even more dazzling.

Add more Life with Orange

  • Tie orange satin ribbons on the chairs of the guests.
  • Cover the tables with bright orange tablecloth or use an orange table runner on a cream tablecloth.
  • Use a bright orange aisle runner to add dramatic beauty to the reception.
  • Scatter orange petals on the walkway of the couple.
  • Include orange table napkins or menu cards on the tables.
  • Add a hint of orange on the wedding favors. The favors do not necessarily have to be orange but they can come in orange boxes or be adorned with orange ribbons.
  • Light up orange scented candles and place all over the reception area.

Orange is fun, fresh, bright, and cheery, which is why it can be the perfect color to add that distinct touch to your wonderful wedding. Have fun planning!

What Is The Guest Etiquette for A Same Sex Wedding – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Carol:

Hi, I’ve been invited to a same-sex wedding, and I am wondering if there is anything I should expect that is different from a regular wedding?

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Carol.  Guest etiquette is the same for both traditional weddings, and same-sex weddings.

Sometimes, guest who are invited are opposed to a same-sex marriage, or may feel uncomfortable attending.  If this is the the case, it is best to just decline the wedding invitation graciously without excuses.  Whether you attend or not, if you received a wedding invitation, you are obliged to send a wedding gift.  Wedding gifts are usually sent to the couple in the weeks before the wedding day.

Your attire as a guest should reflect the formality of the wedding, and the time of day in which it is held—the same as  a traditional wedding.

Sometimes, at a same-sex wedding, the wedding couple do not have a receiving line.  If this is the case, be sure to extend your best wishes to both the couple and their families at some point during the reception.

The basic etiquette at all weddings include:

  • being respectful at the ceremony by not interrupting through use of flash cameras
  • turning off all pagers and cell phones
  • being respectful of religious traditions that are not your own (stand when others stand, sit when others sit; you are not required to kneel or recite prayers that are not your own beliefs)
  • not bringing a surprise guest (your invitation will state who is invited to the wedding—you and a guest/spouse/partner, or just you)
  • don’t monopolize the couple in the receiving line or during the wedding—they have a lot of guests to talk to
  • don’t alter place cards or switch tables if seating is assigned
  • be sociable with others at the wedding ceremony and reception
  • dance when asked to dance, and if required, offer assistance to the elderly and infirm
  • do not ask for a ‘doggie bag’ to take food home
  • do not take centerpieces, or flowers at the end of the ceremony (the couple may have made arrangements for them)

Overall, wedding behaviour and etiquette is the same no matter whether what kind of wedding you are invited to.  If you have further questions feel free to ask.

Best Wedding Flowers for your Autumn Wedding

PINK ORCHID

PINK ORCHID

The wedding season of autumn is best known for its rich colors and striking contrasts that are complementary to what the season generally looks like. It is the same thing for flowers. Golden yellow, orange, and deep red are just some of the major choices. Bold colored flowers such as gerberas and pinks are very popular.

If you are getting married this fall and you want to get to know your choices on the best wedding flowers, here are some to help you get started:

Gerbera

Perfect for dramatic and contemporary bouquets, gerbera is one of the most popular choices for autumn wedding flowers. With its wide array of over a hundred of shades and colors to choose from, it will not be difficult to decorate your wedding with this wonderful bloom.

DAHLIA

DAHLIA

Dahlias

These flowers that come with multiple petals in vibrant yellow and red shades can be a wonderful addition to your wedding as table centerpieces or floral arrangements for the altar decoration.

Delphinium

The usual color of delphinium is blue but this flower also comes in pink and lilac. Delphiniums are brilliant to use during the wedding reception to add height to table arrangements and to create dramatic touch to the whole event.

Bird of Paradise

The bird of paradise is an exotic flower that has a green beak, orange and blue crest, and green leaves with a touch of silver. This flower is ideal to use for destination weddings, tropical themed weddings or for decorating contemporary tables.

Bouvardia

Bouvardias are loose clusters of starlet flowers that are tubular in shape and have a faint sweet scent. These flowers are mostly used for creating stylish buttonholes.

Pink

When you think of this flower, you would obviously think that it only comes in the color pink. However, pinks are also available in very light shades of pink to reddish hues. You can use these flowers for making beautiful round flower arrangements for the altar or for the bridal bouquet.

HYDRANGEA

HYDRANGEA

Hydrangea

Another popular flower for the fall is the hydrangea, which has full blooms that come in gorgeous pastel shades such as soft white, pink, lilac and light blue. This is suitable for creating flower table centerpieces, pedestal floral arrangements or for the bridal bouquet.

Rose

This flower is not often associated with the season of autumn. However, roses in deep burgundy or yellowish hues can add grace and beauty to your fall wedding.

Chrysanthemums

These flowers are available all year round but they actually grow during the season of fall. Chrysanthemums, which come in a variety of sizes and colors, can be used as fillers for floral arrangements on table centerpieces, as decoration for wedding arch, and for the bouquet of the bride.

Orchid

The list of best wedding flowers will not be complete without the exotic and beautiful orchids that are a major staple in many weddings. Although a bit pricey, many couples prefer to add orchids to their wedding because of the exquisite touch it can provide the event. Orchids in either white or bright pink are stunning for modern table centerpieces, and bouquets of the autumn bride.

Picking the right flowers to decorate your wedding or to use in the bridal bouquet should take sufficient time since flowers are some of the most important aspects of the wedding decoration.

Inexpensive Ways to Decorate Your Outdoor Wedding

Outdoor weddings have become a trend for couples who are looking for a wedding that is beyond the traditional. The fact that an outdoor wedding ceremony is already surrounded with beautiful scenery makes it even more popular because this means fewer expenses for the decoration. With so many outdoor venues to choose, finding that perfect place to hold your big day is not too much of a difficult task.

Finding inexpensive ways to decorate your outdoor wedding should not be too hard either. Here is a practical guide that will help you come up with nice and wonderful decorations for your outdoor wedding without going beyond your budget.

Where, oh where?

The venue of the outdoor wedding is one of the factors that will determine what kind of decorations to have. Since outdoor locations vary, you have to make your choice first to make the decoration planning simpler and easier. Some of these ideas will help you get started:

Beach – White folding chairs, tropical flowers, tiki torches, driftwood decorations, centerpieces made of shells and sand

Backyard – Printed backdrops, tarpaulins, lattice fences, trellis of flowers, wire arch of flowers or balloons

Garden – Floral arrangements, garlands, tulle, lights, tea light candles

Park – Flowers arranged neatly on pills or columns, balloon sculptures, candles, Grecian columns

Table Centerpiece: Center of Attraction

Table centerpieces are some of the most important elements of wedding decoration. To save on this aspect, try making it a do-it-yourself project with the help of your bridesmaids or friends. Here are some table centerpiece ideas that are easy to make.

  • Put a candle inside a tall glass, wrap the glass with thin handmade paper and you will have one elegant piece of a candle table centerpiece.
  • Find some mason jars at home, put some flowers in it and tie the jar with a raffia ribbon.
  • Borrow some small potted plants from your dad’s garden and decorate the pots with satin ribbon.
  • Get a hold of a clear vase, fill it up with sand, and top it off with seashells, starfish and other great finds on the beach.

More Ideas on Inexpensive Outdoor Wedding Décor

  • Use tulle to hang around the edges of gazebos, podiums, aisles, trellises and so on. Tulle is an expensive material that can add a touch of class to your wedding.
  • Do not tie all the chairs with a bow tie, have it on every other chair only or only on the chairs located near the aisle.
  • Opt for balloons to decorate a wedding trellis or arch. If you really want to use flowers, choose those that are grown in your area and are in season.
  • Rent a tent. It may add to the cost of the wedding but it pays to be sure that your guests will be kept safe from sudden burst of rains or extreme heat. If possible, find a venue that provides free tent covering.
  • Gather some friends to trim the lawn in your backyard. To save the extra cost of hiring someone to manicure the lawn, turn the chore into one afternoon of fun and enjoyment by making it a time to do the chore together and have some bonding moment.
  • Use candles for lighting. Instead of equipping the venue with light bulbs that cost a lot, use candles that would even add a dramatic effect to the event.

Outdoors weddings are always fun. Not only do people get to enjoy the wonderful warmth of the sun and the cool breeze, the beauty of nature also makes the event beautiful and stunning. To ensure that you make the most out of your outdoor wedding celebration, keep all of these tips in mind.

How Do I Decorate My Wedding? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Rochelle:

Hi.  I’m getting married in Dec 2009 and wanted your advice on what theme is best with fuschia and off white.  We are thinking of having orchids. The groomsmen will wear white shirts with fuschia cravats and the bridesmaids will be in short fuschia dresses with a white border.  Should I have silver instead of white?  How do I dress the tables? I need ideas on what to have as a centerpiece?  Thanks

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Rochelle, and congratuations on your upcoming wedding.  Fushia and white sound like a great colour combination.  You could go with silver, but many silver colours look like grey, so it would depend upon what silver you chose.

As for what theme, you could just have a colour theme of fushia and white.  Your choice of theme is usually generic, or specific.  Generic themes are like a colour theme, or you could also have an orchid theme.  If you wanted to have a specific theme, usually couples choose a wedding theme that reflects their interests and personality.

Wedding table decorations are usually flowers, candles, sand, water, or food, in various combinations.  A lot depends upon how formal a wedding you are having, and what feel you are going for.  Tables can be dressed is lace overlays, table runners, table squares, etc.  Have you asked your reception site what they have available?  Most reception sites have a variety of choices for you to choose from, and for a cost, can bring in unique items based on your budget.

If you look at all the categories on your right as you scroll down, you will see many posts talking about this subject, where you can get more ideas.  The shopping items at the top right also have lots of great ideas.  Check them out.  If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

How Do I Make My Own Wedding Reception Centrepieces? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Mandy:

Hi, I am trying to make wedding reception centerpieces myself.  Here’s the idea: small vase filled with water and glitter, with 1 flower in each.  Will the glitter sink, any ideas on floating glitter?  Thanks a lot.

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

water pearls.jpgHi Mandy.  What a lovely idea.  I believe you are right—the glitter will sink, but it really depends upon the way the manufacturer makes the glitter.

This is not something that you can plan out in advance—you need to experiment.  There are different kinds of glitter, and you can even use silver confetti which be a little bigger, but depending upon the manufacturer, might float.  You will need to see how it reacts to being in water for a number of hours, as confetti might start to fall apart.  Again, depends upon the manufacturer, and how they make their product.  Saying that, go out to your local craft store, or dollar store, and see what you can find.  Then experiment.

Have you considered these Water Pearls for wedding table decorations.  Using coloured sand is also an option that you might want to consider.  There are also different kinds of confetti to choose from, so take a look at these great options.

There are many great ways to create an inexpensive reception table centrepiece.  Good luck, and if you have further questions, feel free to ask.

What Can I Use For Wedding Table Centerpieces Instead of Flowers? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Xandy:

We’re having an outdoor wedding on a game farm. There are going to be some horses involved. The reception is going to be in a hall. The colours are brown, purple and green. What can we use for table decorations if we don’t want to use flowers?

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Xandy, and congratulation on your wedding.  It sounds great!

Reception table centrepieces can include fruit, sand, lights, water, and candles to name the most common elements.  There are some lovely examples of wedding reception centerpieces in this video.  Also, this link takes you to many table centrepieces that you can purchase on-line.

Some examples of centerpieces would be vases with fruit inside.  Or multiple vases with coloured water with floating candles on top.  Vases with rocks on the bottom, a lovely blossom anchored with the rocks, filled with water topped with a floating tea light can be quite stunning.  The water lights you can find on the last link are very beautiful.  Wedding favours can also be grouped on the table to create a focal point, and this link to wedding favours gives you a very large selection.

These should give you an idea and the two video links will give you even more ideas.  Good luck, and if you have further questions, feel free to ask.

How Many Centrepieces Do I Put On Each 8 Ft Table? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Diane:

I am in charge of centerpieces for my step-daughter’s wedding, she is having a communal table setup with a total of 16 – 8 foot tables…to calculate the number of centerpieces needed, how far apart should the centerpieces be?

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Diane.  Your answer depends upon the size of the centrepieces.  Smaller centrepieces should be approximately 4 feet apart—2 for each eight-foot table.  If you are going to be using a larger centrepiece, then you could just have one on each table.

For example.  If you are having a trumpet vase with flowers, feathers, branches, etc. then you will need less of them.  In fact, you could have one for every 2 8-ft tables.  If you are having a posy of flowers, then you would have 2 for each 8-ft table.  If you chose a long flat dish with sand, tealights, etc., one per table in the centre would be appropriate.  It is all about scale.

You don’t want the tables to look empty, or the overall look to be too busy.  So part of it depends upon the table setting also.  If you are having a simple meal with plate, cup, glass, and silverware, you could have a more substantial centrepiece.  If the table setting has plate, side plate, cup, water glass, wine glass, champagne glass, and silverware, I would go with either one larger centrepiece per table, or two small centrepieces per table.  If you decide to go with an extravangant centrepiece (like the trumpet vase), I would put one on every 2 tables.

This video on Table Centrepiece Decorations might be helpful.  Check out these great water lights for vases.

Good luck, and feel free to email again with your questions.

How Do I Choose Wedding Reception Table Centrepieces? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Kathy:

We are having a winter wedding in January 2010, can’t decide on centrepieces. And most important where can we possibly take nice indoor photos in
Mississauga?  Thank you so much.

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Kathy and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  You might find this video on wedding reception table decorations helpful.  It covers the main types of centrepieces that you can choose from.

As for indoor photos, I do not live in Ontario, and have only been in Mississauga once many years ago.  Since you live there, I suggest you think about an indoor garden or botanical gardens that may be available.  City historical buildings are another popular choice, and so is legislative buildings.  If you are having your wedding in a church, that could be another option.  I have seen winter outdoor photos taken on a popular foot bridge, as well as a unused railway bridge.

Depending upon the architecture of your reception site, you might consider photos at that location.  The next time you are out and about in Mississauga, I suggest you look at your surrounds with new eyes and consider everything you see as a potential wedding photo site.  You might surprised at what you come up with.

What Colours Go With An Outdoor Wedding? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Ellen:

I am planning an outdoors ceremony with the reception inside a lodge.  This is a second-time wedding for me, and my dress is vintage, a dusky blush
almost peachy pink with an ivory overlay.  I want to go for a relaxed casual theme.

I have collected dozens of marvelous vases to use in clusters or scattered lines of fresh flowers down long tables for centerpieces.  The vases are all mixed – clear glass, cut crystal, white milk glass, copper, silver, brass, some vintage-look ivory ceramic or porcelain with gold rims.  They’re all different heights and shapes, some are lovely bowls for floating blooms in.

I cannot decide on colors for the flowers and table linens.  The lodge is very rustic with log beams and a stone fireplace.  It is a summer afternoon wedding in July, so I’d thought bright colors would be nice, but my dress is soft-colored.

Does my dress and bouquet have to match the rest of the wedding?  I am having my daughter as my matron of honor.  Does her dress and flowers need to blend with mine?

Can I have bright flowers with all those different vases?  I’m planning on shepherd hooks with hanging mason jars down the aisles of the ceremony.  I’m at such a loss on choosing colors that won’t look tacky with all the vases.  Any help would be so appreciated!

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Ellen, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  Thanks for such detailed descriptions, as it makes it easier for me to respond!  Let’s talk about the vases first.  They sound lovely, and you really should just ignore the colour of them, since you have different kinds.  It is the flowers in the vases that will make the statement, not the vases, so you should be OK with the vases.

You instinct for bright colours is correct.  Lodges tend to be wood, giving a "dark" look (compared to painted walls).  So bright colours is the perfect choice.  It is fine that your dress is not of the same colour.  You are the bride and you WANT to stand out.  Beside, from a technical point of view, your dress is neutral, so don’t worry about it matching anything.  It doesn’t have to, and shouldn’t.

Your flowers will not look tacky as long as you keep the flowers consistent.  It’s OK to have the vases different, but the flowers should be the same in all the vases.

Once you choose a wedding colour (I suspect you have a good idea of what you want), that colour should be in flowers, and in the MOH dress.  The MOH could have a pale version of the prominent flower colour so it is more in keeping with the paleness of your dress.  But that is not necessary–she could have a bold colour too.

What table linen colours are available to you at the lodge?  Take some pictures of the vases and mason jars, and go see your florist.  They will suggest the right kind of flowers in keeping with the vases that you have.  Pictures of the lodge would also help them know the backdrop the flowers will be completing with for attention of the eye.  This is their expertise, so go see them.  Ask for a written quote for your wedding flower needs.

Good luck and if you have further questions, feel free to email again.

Butterfly Wedding Themes – for the Outdoor Ceremony

Real live butterflies can be used during the wedding ceremony to add a sense of romance to your nuptials. You can either have one person release all the butterflies en masse when vows are exchanged or you can present each wedding gift with a single boxed butterfly to be released as the bride and groom walk down the aisle towards their new life as a married couple.

butterfly wedding theme.jpgFor the reception dinner and dance, there are an endless number of possibilities for where you can include your chosen butterfly wedding theme accessories. On the tabletop of each dinner table, you can add butterfly shaped candleholders, candy dishes and votive holders. Hand painted butterflies can be placed on your taper candles or hidden within your floral centerpieces. Butterfly wedding stickers and butterfly shaped favor cards, as well as place card holders can all add an element of fanciful flight to your reception tables. Don’t forget to decorate the guest book signing table, the cake serving display area and the gift center. These are all areas where you can fully extend your love of butterflies and your choice of using the butterfly as a beautiful wedding theme.

The most important thing to remember if you are choosing butterfly wedding themes, do what you love and decorate using the colors and décor accessories that you think would best compliment your wedding ceremony and reception room. When it comes to nature, you certainly cannot go wrong with the graceful and elegant butterfly.

What Size Vases Should I Use For My Wedding Table Centrepieces? – Ask the Expert Answer

Question from Mary:

I plan on using square silver vases with silk flowers on my tables.  The tables are oblong and I wanted to know if 6"x6" vases would be appropriate given the fact that there will be dinner plates, salad plates and bread plates together with three votives on each side of the centerpieces.  I was considering 7"x7" but I think they may be overpowering with all that is on the tables.

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Mary, congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  You are not telling me the size of the dinner plates, etc., so it is difficult to tell which would be better.  I would choose the 6" x 6" vases for your reception centrepieces.  That way if you need more volume, you can create it with more flowers, or greater height with your flowers.

What Kind Of Centerpieces Can I Use For My Wedding Reception? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Melissa:

Hi, we are having a summer wedding next year and I have no idea what kind of centerpiece to do. We are having an outdoor garden wedding and my wedding colors are fuscia and emerald green. I was wondering what kind of flowers I should use in my centerpieces. I want to do floating flowers… preferably fuscia with some emerald green in there too. Any idea’s? or links of some centerpieces I can look at??  Thanks so much for your time.

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Melissa, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage.  Centrepieces fall into a few different categories.

The first are low centrepieces that your guests can see over to talk to other guests.  These can be flower arrangements, a low bowl with floating candles and flowers , or just about any other type of low arrangement.  I was at a wedding once, where they used clay flower pots with florists styrofoam, and they had fresh flowers in them.  It was very lovely, and they used flowers from their own garden.  There are candle centrepieces, as well as flower vases that are a medium height.  Another option is to have large trumpet vases with large flower arrangements. There are so many options that are available, and then anyone with some imagination and some flowers can create their own unique centrepieces that make a personal statement.

With an outdoor wedding like you have described, I would suggest using a rose bowl  with floating flower heads and floating candles.  The bowl will protect the flame from the wind, and give lovely lighting as evening sets in.  It’s a great option for table lighting in the evening, unless you have planned for other table lighting after dark.

My suggestions are to check out this video, and to google ‘florists’ and see what they have online for wedding flowers and centrepieces.  There are over 300 videos showing wedding centerpieces on YouTube.  You are sure to find something that suits your personal style.

What is The Best Flower Arrangement To Have For A Wedding Reception? – Ask The Expert Answer

Question from Faye:

We are having square tables that seat 8 people.  What would be the best kind of flower arrangement to have?

Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:

Hi Faye.  The best kind of flower arrangement would be a low centrepiece style flower arrangement for the tables.  You want your guests to be able to speak with each other without having to look around a taller bouquet of flowers.

Depending upon how much room you have on the tables (which sounds like a fair bit based on your description), you might consider an arrangement that "trails" or spreads out from the centre of the table.  With two people on each side of the table, there will be adequate room for a larger, low centrepiece arrangement in the centre.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email again.  Thanks you.

Winter Wedding Decorations for a Glittering Day

winterdecor4.jpgThe glitter of the season is added to your special day with winter wedding decorations.  Use a variety of winter wedding decorations to celebrate the essence of your love and the season.

Choose a location that brings winter to life, such as an inn with a fireplace or a manor with a ballroom and magnificent view.  Your guests can relax by the fire or watch the snowfall from the indoor comfort of your luxurious wedding reception location.

Bring the snow indoors by choosing snowy winter wedding decorations.  Include sparkling snowflakes in every aspect of your day from the ceremony to the reception.  Give out wedding bulletins featuring winter wonderland snowflakes.  Have accessories embellished with snowflakes.  A winter wonderland or glazed porcelain snowflake cake topper adds wintry wonder to your cake cutting ceremony along with a snowflake embellished cake serving set

Sprinkle snowy confetti on all your tables for a winter wonderland feeling.  Hang glittering snowflakes from the ceiling.  Wear a dazzling snowflake garter under your wedding gown for the garter throwing ceremony at the reception.  Display a snowflake guest book with a matching pen for your guests to sign at your wedding reception.

Often white flowers are used at a winter wedding with touches of berry, ivy and pine branches.  Excellent choices include calla lilies, orchids and white roses.  Calla lilies are a traditional wedding theme for all seasons.

winterdecor9.jpgAdd bold dashes of color or metallic to your winter wedding decorations for a holiday atmosphere.  Red, green, gold and silver will work well with your white winter wedding flowers.  Wrap white light garlands with tulle for a winter wonderland feeling on walls, ceilings and hallways.  Decorate the tables with snowflake shaped candle holders and fragrant tea lights.  Set a decorated snowflake place card by each guest’s seat.

Consider using traditional holiday accents as winter wedding decorations.  Miniature Christmas trees and potted poinsettia plants are beautiful centerpieces on your wedding reception tables.  You can even decorate outdoor Christmas trees at your wedding reception location to direct guests to the right place.

winterdecor5.jpgBecause mints are cool and reminiscent of the holidays, they are often given out at winter weddings.  Cute containers featuring your names filled with mints are a sentimental way to remember a cool winter wedding.

Winter wedding decorations aren’t complete without themed favors for your guests.  Give out adorable snow globes, heart shaped hand warmers or a silver plated friendship as seasonal wedding keepsakes for all your guests.

Finally, when you leave your wedding reception don an elegant angora head that reads “Bride” to show off your new status.  Winter wedding decorations celebrate your love and the season perfectly.

Whether you have a princess wedding or a casual outdoor ceremony, paper streamers transform the ordinary into extraordinary. Hang up puffed paper wedding bells to celebrate the essence of your love everywhere your guests look. Silk is another way to create the best example of wedding decorations at receptions. If you have a more generous budget for your wedding decorations, add the elegance of silk. Mark or cover your chairs with soft silk. Have the flower girl toss silk petals out to announce the arrival of the bride. Use a flower girl basket that matches the theme of your wedding, such as butterflies or Celtic. Have a dramatic nylon or rayon runner for the bride to take her trademark walk. The runner should have a rubber backing to avoid embarrassing slippage.

Covering chairs is a cost-effective way to beautify your wedding ceremony and reception locations. Use linen, organza or other fabrics to cover or mark chairs. If you have a church wedding, get a roll of tulle and satin ribbon to create bows for pew markers. Extra tulle and ribbon can be used to wrap wedding favors. Large strips over doors and window create a magical effect.

If you really want to wow your guests, include your wedding theme in every element of your day. Having a theme also puts your guests in the mood to have a good time because they know the direction of the wedding reception.

Guest favors are also an example of wedding decorations at receptions. While your centerpieces are the focal point at the reception tables, everyone looks for a place card and a favor at their seat. Your place cards can double as guest favors when you use decorative place card holders. A silver plated fortune cookie holding an Asian themed place card is a lovely keepsake from an Oriental themed wedding. Using a vase filled with a single silk flower to hold a place card is also an attractive favor for your wedding guests. Include a disposable camera by each place setting so guests can take spontaneous pictures throughout your reception.

Your centerpieces should be eye-catching but not overwhelming. You want your guests to be able to see each other and talk without straining their necks to see around an oversized centerpiece.
