Unique Wedding Favors for The Guests

Some of us love weddings. I mean, most of us love weddings. It gives us the excuse of dressing up in nice looking dresses, put on extravagant makeup to try to outdo the bride and of course, weddings are a place for all the ladies in the world to practice their all favorite pastime-Gossip!

And when you expect us to find time to look for the perfect dress for the occasion, to spend our entire afternoon at a hair salon and above all, going from shopping malls to stores to get the perfect gift for you and your husband, the least we expect from you is maybe just a little gift of appreciation. We are not asking for some Tiffany jewelries or anything. Give us something personal instead of just pieces of fruit cakes.

Wedding favors are without a doubt a reflection of the personality of the bride and groom. When you are being given something that is so general like honey sticks and candles from a budget store, it will give a rather bad impression on the guests. Probably you are trying to save up or run out of time since weddings are not the easiest thing to plan, but most of the guests have invested their time on finding your wedding presents and also their evening to celebrate your wedding dinner. That is why it is important to plan early and invest your time on a perfect keepsake.

The right wedding tokens need not to be expensive. All you need is just some creativity and time with the right materials. However, with so many stores selling wedding favors nowadays, you are afraid that your guests may receive a similar one from a previous wedding. That will be totally embarrassing. So, what do you do then? You are now afraid to get a gift from any store to avoid this redundancy in gifts. And this adds to your pre wedding jitters. Maybe you should not be getting married anyway.

Do not fret. Let me tell you how you can get the ultimate wedding mementos. The one that no one has ever received. The most unique gift any guests would ever receive. It is not hard to find or do. Ladies and gentleman, presenting…personalized wedding favors!

All you need is just some materials, scissors, glue, papers and all other things you might want to add to your keepsakes. If you think you are not creative enough, just head to the local library and flip through a few books on arts and crafts. You will pretty soon be ready to have a fun and enjoyable day ahead of you.

The important thing when making your own unique wedding favors is to make sure it goes along with your theme. As you read on, I will be giving you two examples on how to make those little trinkets for your guests. First of all, let me give you an idea on complementing an Asian wedding theme. Since everything about the wedding is oriental based and Zen influenced, you will never go wrong with giving your guests bamboo chopsticks. However, instead of giving them plain ones, scribed some words and messages onto it to add a personal touch. Apart from chopsticks, miniature lanterns can also be given out as it is a symbol of the Chinese heritage. If you, however, find all of this a bit lame and uninspiring, give them fortune cookies instead. However, do not put messages inside. Get a caterer to custom made your cookies and put fire crackers inside with the wick on the outside. Attach a message on the cookie which may say: “This party is a BANG!” Just make sure they lit the cookie cracker outside the banquet hall.

There is nothing more beautiful than a Christmas wedding party. With snow softly falling over the rooftops, you may get an idea from these miracles of nature. A plastic snowflake is not hard to make. Decorate the edges with sequins and bits of shiny paper to complete the finishing touches. Another great wedding favor is to give your guests a personalized photo ornaments. Purchase clear transparent baubles with removable tops. After that sneak your wedding picture inside along with potpourri to give it the extra boost. Hang them on a small Christmas tree which is placed on every table for the guests. They will be delighted for sure.

I would like to remind you that the perfect keepsake is not measured by their value or by their beauty. Instead it is by the amount of efforts put into making it. Trust me, your guests will know the difference. At least they know that they have not wasted their time on spending time on you when they receive those unique wedding favors from you.
