As a result, he was fined and all his lands were forfeited by the ruling government of that time. After that, Beam made a expedition to the Niagara Peninsula, fell in love with it and eventually brought his family there. This marked the first step to the establishment of Beamsville as an appropriate settlement for other people back then.
