Bayfield is indeed a place that you would not regret stopping by. It is a community located within the municipality of Bluewater, Ontario. Located on the shore of Lake Huron, the specific site of Bayfield is at the mouth of Bayfield River.
You must thank Baron de Tuyll for stumbling upon this place in 1834. Its lush green forests and placid water has held this Frenchman in its spell and he vowed never to leave from this place. Who would? Every year, people would flock to this small town for their vacation. Truly, the hustle and bustle of the city life has caused many wrinkles, acnes and headaches to Canadians. Once they had set foot on this precious piece of land, all their troubles and stress are left behind on the boat.
Bayfield is amazingly beautiful, especially during the summer. This small village of love is strategically situated on the lake. It is best to go it with your lover. You will have an unforgettable experience as you are caught in an embrace with your lover while slowly being enveloped by the first light of dawn. The sun would rise from the lake and you will witness the dark of the night being pushed away by the glorious rays. What is better than witnessing sunrise is the sunset. The whole village of Bayfield would literally be transformed as the ray would turn into a shade of reddish orange. By simply staring at this magical transition of day to night, all your worries will be oozed out of your system as the now ruby sun disappears in the horizon.
Every year, this little town of 900 would be filled with tourists to an astounding amount of 2500 due to tourists. This drastic increment normally occurs during summer. In accordance to this, Bayfield little carnivals and annual fairs became a huge affair in this laid back town. One of the popular traditions is the Bayfield fair in August. During this period, there are carnivals, old school exhibits and shows that appeals to all.
Baby shows, pet competitions and merry go round are part of the package. Another event that draws visitors is the Christmas in Bayfield which takes place in the second week of November. It may be a little early but heck, let us just enjoy the fun! This event is truly made spectacular with the lighting of trees along Clan Gregor Square. Apart from this, there is also the firemen’s breakfast, a 5k pioneer park run for everyone and also for those who have sea legs, the ocean yacht rendezvous.
Bayfield will captivate you with its small town life and natural beauty. This is the perfect excuse to get out from the city.
